Toddler seat in sport buckets....
Considering a 911 T and would prefer sport buckets. But wanted to post in this section since I might get a better response. Any of you GT3 or touring owners with sport buckets ever put a toddler seat in them?

I bought the Porsche plus seat. 3 year old fits perfect in it and absolutely loves being in the car. Can’t quite see over the dash yet. xD

Need this as well.
Also need to find a way to convince the wife, she's ridden with me one too many times....

As long as your “passenger airbag off” is illuminated when the seat and child are in it, you are fine. I drove to a Massachusetts state police barracks to confirm it was ok to have child in the front. Might want to check with your state just in case. The seats whether they are bucket or sofa are designed to detect if there is a passenger of 100lbs or more. Which if they are more than that, the light will go off. Again you want to make sure it’s illuminated.

another moron daddy trying to be cool driving gt3 with his child. its been beaten to death. you dont have airbag deactivation switch installed (I have) you are risking live of your child. period.
that weight sensor there on pax seat is for a different reason. good luck.

how do you get the deactivation switch? do you need it in the case of sofa seats as well?

Love to know where/how you got a switch. My local dealer, who is a moron, tells me there is no such thing.

With that out of the way, to my knowledge the 997.2 introduced the "smart" airbags with weight sensor and was also the last to have a key deactivated retrofit option. So your only option now is to trust the weight sensor. Everyone takes risks in life, IMO, this is pretty low.

I looked at this when spec’ing my 991. My understanding is that the sport buckets are not approved for baby seats. The 4-way and 18-way are, which is why I went with them.
As others have noted, this is different than the 997’s, where they were. I can’t remember if it’s either because of the key disable retrofit option or the type of weight sensor in the seats.

My 9 year old rides with me and he rode when he was 8 and 7 in one of these. The benefit of sharing the experience is much greater than the minimal risk; I trust that the light is telling me the truth that the bags are off.
I drive more carefully with him in the car for obvious reasons but shoot, a drunk driver could cross the road and hit us in any vehicle we're driving.
