As far as being worried about track use, as long as the previous owner wasn't an idiot I wouldn't worry about it, especially if you get a CPO (or even the remainder of the factory warranty).
Best of luck with your shopping
Sapphire is nice too but I see so many of the GT4 in SBM at autocross that it reminds me too much of the GT4. But I’m not opposed to it if we come across a good deal.

My big question is how can you tell if the previous owner was an idiot if the car is being sold by a dealer?

What do people consider the threshold for being a basically new car? 3000mi? 5000 mi? 10000 mi?

How much would you depreciate for mileage for a GT3?

Hard to tell if an idiot, but a DME and looking at tire and brake wear are good starts.

I've seen a few less than 1k still go for close to MSRP.

You’ve already received some really good car buying topics to consider.
A professional PPI should include various body panels being tested for paint thickness. Improper paint thickness variations can reveal past body repairs... Keep in mind that “CarFax” is not a 100% reliable reporting tool.
Lastly, stripes added to a car (especially the hood), by a previous owner are sometimes used to hide expensive to repair paint chip damage...
Hope you find the perfect car for you!!! Being patient can pay off...
Cheers

That's some good advice. I never heard of the stripes thing before. Thanks.
