Any other 2019 GT3 Tourings titled as GT3 RS?

The other major difference in VINs is that 3RS's use an F for the 5th digit engine code and the GT3 uses a C. The F was to denote a 4.0L engine, so the 911R has it as well but when the GT3 went to the 4L engine they kept the C code as with 2014-2016 GT3's.

Thank you - helpful.
Do you have a listing of what each digit in the VIN stands for? I am curious why only the tourings show as RS and not the standard GT3?
Or do all 2019 GT3s show as RS?

What I was trying to say is that I don't think it's Porsche who has anything mixed-up. It's some insurance or motor vehicle department data-base that has some issue. There is no difference in vin between a regular GT3 and touring. Insurance wouldn't see touring anymore than if you had full leather or PCCBs.

Not the first time mislabeling has occurred for a 911. My 09C4S VIN came through as an S for registration and insurance purposes. Never an issue -- then again I never had a claim on it. Agents told me not to worry about it.

The issue on my end is that it costs 15% MORE to insure a GT3RS than a GT3.... Dont want to be paying insurance rates on a car I don't have...
I am going to try PCNA.

PCNA was a bust... (not sure what I expected... )
When I run my VIN with government agency NHTSA https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/Decoder it shows as a GT3 RS!
They state on website: "Information provided below is based on the details provided by the manufacturer of this vehicle to NHTSA in the part 565 submittal"
So somehow what was submitted to this "national database" (that insurance companies, carfax, etc pull from) is incorrect....

This has come back. Travelers just tripled my rate on renewal saying it is now w “correctly rated as an RS.” Anyone else ever get this resolved?

I double checked with my insurance, Amica, about it. Although my VIN has it listed as an "RS," the underwriter for the insurance recognized it as "only" a GT3. I did provide them with the letter that I was provided by PCNA which clarified that it is a GT3 and not a GT3 RS. After all, "An RS is an RS." Or so I have read.

Rocky - email customer.commitment@porsche.us and let them know about your GT3 VIN issue. They should be familiar with it as I got the idea to do this from another RL'er. They will likely mail you a letter, explaining that even though the VIN is for an RS, the car is actually "only" a GT3. Hope this helps.
