Porsche on Flipping
#16
i originally bought my gt3rs because I thought of having a cool car and not losing much money in the process... so this does kinda suck but on the bright side I’m totally infatuated head over heels in love with it and plan On driving at least 15 - 20k miles before I’m on top the next car!

ONLY thing porsche can do to cut down on flippers is flood mkt with supply. They've started to do that some already. If they come out on 992 and communicate they are gonna make so many 992 that it makes the 991 look like limited edition, flippers gone. Although that probably hurts them too because less real buyers will want what is too readily available. Really is a tough thing to fix esp with the way the process works in US.

Flippers did get killed HOWEVER it will take a few of these to get them out of the business and move on. We will see when the 992 comes out and see if the actual people that want them to drive can get an allocation or not. Until those folks can spec their own, issue isn't solved and you will have a bunch of "delivery mile" cars for sale with specs no one else wants.

This isn’t really an issue IMO. So far I’ve been able to get cars I want, specs I want for prices I want. It’s a trade off b/w time and money. More money = car sooner. Slowly price comes down and we pull trigger or wait some more.
Example - I paid sticker on an exec car w/ 2K miles on it in January. Figure if I was buying now I could do $5K to $10K better. But I didn’t want to wait.

I have the impression they're talking about the Speedster, Porsche may try to do that with that model. I'm not against the lease program as long as the interest rate matches a purchase rate. Regarding the increase in production, as long as dealers can control the market by hoarding them and setting ADM (or even hiding them) they're just gonna have more cars to play with. Doesn't resolve anything.

Just do what Ford did with the GT on ultra limited cars. Problem is you can't because of the VIP program that gets in the way of that.

. "Our interest is to sell cars for drivers, not dealers," Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume recently told Autocar.
"We put so much love into them, with the goal of people driving them not to put them in a garage. One thing we could do is look at leasing models to try to avoid this kind of dealing, so the car doesn't get sold on for a period of time. It is one solution," he said.

Porsche 911 GT flipping in the US market is directly related to China sales of Porsche two door (718 & 911) cars.
All two door Porsche cars are made at one factory, Zuffenhuasen. That's a limited supply of two door cars.
China soaks up more 718 cars than the US plus Porsche wants to grow China 911 sales. Lots of Zuffenhausen build slots go to China. Fewer to US and those few are likely GT slots.
Limited US build slots = flipping.

and what has happened to the values to GT cars this time around with the increase in production?
and what has happened to all the people thinking they are going to make a fortune by flipping their cars? I just offered a 2rs at Msrp. So much for flipping that car right?
you are right- this place is a riot.
