It seems for most part the gt2 and the speciale are legends in their own ways, maybe one is short term and another is long term. Lots of people talk about how the 991 gt2 is not the 997gt2 legend nor limited and market will sink it down like other gt cars of 991!!

If you have a chance to get a GT2 RS, you'd be nuts to pass. Unless it's at a huge ADM. Get black with WP, looks sooooo good.

I drank the koolaide and have a 2RS in a week or 2. I still don’t think it’s a long term keeper.

Speciale engine will always be in the discussion as one of the greatest. I think Scud is more fun all around package (go cart feel with a Ferrari v8 wailing behind your head) and CS has an engine note from heaven (but a transmission from hell ).
The 488 engine has been getting a bunch of awards. I own a 488. I also owned a 458. 488 hands down.

Agreed, this car is epic. Performance wise it's unmatched, I have a huge grin on my face whenever I drive it. I don't think you will see another one like this one from Porsche. Next one hybrid? No thanks..end of an era

Currently have a Speciale and it’s my keeper no question.

I love the looks, the sound, and the engagement.

Mine has a full inconel exhaust and the noise is out of this world.

It didn't/hasn't been quite the experience I had built up in my mind. Still a pretty epic car but does fall short of what i built up in my head. That said, it will always have a special place in history. That also being said, I'd take a Scud over a Speciale and that is BEFORE the extra 100k in your pocket after.

I don't doubt you. And while it may be close, I'm not comparing base 458 to 488. As an example, owned a 430 Berlinetta years ago and thought it was a yawner. A 430 Scud is one of my fav cars of all time. I wouldn't buy a 997 c2 for anything but 997 3rs again, one of fav cars of all time. So while your comparison is close, it's not the exact same comparison. And even if it was, there's an *** got every chair. Some are gonna want it in a 458, 488 or neither.

To support your argument though, I do think the difference between the base and track oriented models keep getting narrower. Ferrari keeps making the base so much better (and the track model softer). Spread in feel between Pista and 488 probably that much narrower; not because Pista falls short; because Ferrari keeps made the 488 that much better.

To go against your argument, not many people felt "meh" about the 458 Italia and wanted their Berlinetta back. Can't say the same for 488. Again, *** for every chair I guess.

I’m with you on that and I’d probably go one further back and get a Chal Strad. It’s the start of the run and super cool in it’s own right. All of these cars overpower the road. Only way for it to be a “keeper” is if it adds some sort of extra spice - nostalgia for example. Tracking these cars does nothing for me - so much better to just have a purpose built race car of which there are a number of good options at various price points now.

If I had the means and garage space, I would 100% have a scud and a Speciale as long term keepers. Such epic cars!

Those 700hp vehicles are not NA. I've owned all three (CS, Scud and Speciale) and I'll take any and all of them as long term keepers for different reasons. Scud is my fav out of those three. And i don't have a ton of interest in the 700hp options, let alone as keepers.
These 700ho cars are too fast for the road to really enjoy. Just my .02

sold my 991 2RS and love the 3RS

I think the GT2RS is a long term keeper. It’s a very significant car in many ways. It’s one of Porsche’s all time great cars.

apparently another post Link addressed Porsche plan to expand more iterations of GT brand 992 due to the highest levels of sales they had on 991, and at potential of devaluation of prior GTs ! Interesting

It'll be a keeper until Porsche comes out with a 992 GT2RS that has more than 700hp....
