I am very surprised of the issues you describe with your 570S. I have a 2012 McLaren mp4-12c and have never had any of the problems you talk about. Yeah it had dim a/c displays and a faulty seatbelts warning sensor but nothing major. I still own it and have a GT3 Touring coming. They are very different cars but I think both excellent ones. I plan on keeping both for a long long time.

Hey Man, very detailed and intelligent post.
I am glad Greg took care of you. My new to me 964 has been in his shop the last few weeks. He sent me a picture with parts removed so they can be restored correctly.
I didnt know you are close to flemington.
I am up up the hill from the hospital. Send me a PM, you need to stop by the garage for some drinks.

I really enjoyed the read and exhaustive review. I laughed when I saw your service station style squeegee and paper towel dispenser. I bet you hate bug splatter on your windshield

A very thoughtful and thorough review - I also appreciate your audiophileness, ha! I had the burmeister in my 911 and it was very disappointing. The tweeters were too bright and the bass bloated and messy. The interior acoustics had a lot to do with the overall presentation, but nonetheless the integration and execution was abysmal. I actually prefer the inferior bose.

read most of your review , thanks for sharing
being around car people for several years
all of my friends , around 7, that owned Mac had multiple issues and that is across the line up that Mac offers
a friend of mine had a cracked head after 8000 miles on MP4-12 C , and the repair took 3 months for a variety of reasons including shipping back and forth to philadelphus, and that took away almost the whole driving season
it does not mean that all Macs will have problems, but certainly seems to be a very high percentage that we all have to judge whether is is acceptable or not
and at this time I think it is too risky and headachy for my taste

I would not get too hung up on one make having more issues than another. Any of us that have been around for a while know that no mnfr is immune to issues - Porsche included. How the dealer and/or the mnfr supports you is what's important. As others pointed out just make sure you have a warranty no matter which direction you go and thoroughly look over the service records to see what the car was in for and how often. Good look with your search both are fine choices.

Reality gets ignored. Mac does have issues. But they have never swapped out an entire years worth of engines, (2014 GT3 self igniting engine), put critical cooling components together with cheap superglue, crappy rear main seals, ****ty IMS bearings killing a lot of cars. Just the start of the list. Shocks popping through the bonnet and gears trashing themselves? Got a GT4? How about flywheels exploding on 2010 GT3 RS? Schit happens but we love our Porsches.
To the OP, my attention span cannot get through your post. Sorry bout that.

Exactly - on both points.

Loved the review! Felt like I went through the ownership of a mac 570 in a span of 15 minutes. Everytime I'm YouTube surfing there is truly nothing else like watching a pov video of a mac accelerating..especially when boost hits.
I'd like to know what tires you have on your car now and if the p4s makes a sizable difference in reducing road noise. I agree the Bose in the car is terrible.. it really is no match to the r8's b&o.. have not heard Macs bw system yet.

interesting comparison. Thanks for posting up.
Was at Mac dealership last week, and couldn’t help but feel a bit sad for all the preowned 570s sitting on the lot. However the price point was good on some of those trade ins.
Q: did you install the ps4 tires? I live in PA and roads are well yea pretty bad this winter.
