Timely post @SFLDOT2GT3
Yes, there is indeed a "very tiny" bit of play if you push them forward however I would say this is a nitpick rather than anything else as you shouldn't be pushing them forward, only pulling.
Recently, JCR released a "version 3" of their amazing extended shift paddles where it's now a complete one piece design. I will be upgrading from "version 2" by end of next week and will be happy to report back on how "version 3" feels vs. "version 1 and 2".
That being said, I've never had any dislikes with using either "version 1 and version 2".
JCR shift paddles upgrade for me personally are the, "if I was only going to improve one thing in my RS, this will be it" above everything else.

This one deserves a proper write-up.
Upgraded to JCR's 2022 version (I call it "V3") from 2021 version. To say I'm blown away is an understatement. I'm actually excited.
The biggest change is the complete 1-piece design which brings distinctive improvements and of course there is absolutely no play, no movement of any sort when the paddles are pushed instead of pulled.
It's night and day in the whole shifting experience with V3 over previous versions. The tactile click at every shift can now be heard (if you have a relatively quiet and noise free drive) as much as it can be felt, the precision at my fingertips is best described as true accurate bolt rifle action with zero lag whatsoever. It's also very easy to engage Neutral now even over OEM paddles that sometimes feel a little stiff.
JCR have not just continually improve with the latest version, I can vouch that JCR have outdone Porsche by giving us the freedom to shift outside "9 and 3 on the steering wheel", whilst also improving on every tiny, insignificant aspect of paddle shifting.
Absolutely worth the upgrade.

They certainly look cool, but I don't understand how the "click" can change... When you replace the paddles, you are just swapping the exterior bit, not the internal mechanical part that's responsible for the click. But maybe the click is different than the prior, V2, version since it's now one piece. And it's metal, not 3D printed. So the original OEM "click" can now transfer through to you fingers without being dampened. Just guessing here. Either way, I'm strongly thinking about trying 'em out.
I don't really need to be able to use the paddles at any position other than 9 and 3, though. But the paddles just look cool.

Never felt this was ever a problem, TBH.
You're mostly right. The one piece and full metal provides an entirely different tactile feel that is crisp and sharper than V2 and V1.
The OEM click is milder compared to V3, also the OEM click does not make a sound like V3 does.
