Lava was popular on the .1 RS (launch color) but not on anything else. It has proven a rather polarizing color. Probably my least favorite orange Porsche has ever offered.
To me, Lava looks too close to Salmon, which is not my first choice either.
They were lined up in Zuffenhausen when we took the factory tour in 2016
There was no second choice for me even if I lose big bucks on the trade-in. No LO and no GT3 for me. It is striking in person. The yellow calipers really look great with the Lava. In the sun the looks intensify. I have had all positive comments.

If I have an allocation for .2 RS, it would 100% be LO.
Great choice. I took the car out today and so many pictures and videos were taken of it. I dont get the negative about the color. It is amazing in person. But beauty is the eyes of the beholder I guess.
Let's just say that whenever I pull up anywhere with the Lava Orange GT3, it gets the treatment reserved for supercars!! Everyone asks me to park it right out front in VIP (i.e., cars & coffee, auto shows, valets etc.) Love the LO!!!
We to breakfast with a 993 GT2. I got as many looks and stares as he did. I was impressed because when taking the Turbo S it went unnoticed vs the 993.
I Thinks it's a cool color as are several of the other Porsche oranges mentioned. A local buddy had a 991.1 GT3 in Lava and it looked great. But to me it suits the winged car much better than the Touring or R.
Love it. The only car I'd trade my 991.1 GT3 RS in Lava orange for, would be a .2 GT3 RS in Lava.
Absolutely love the color. Everyone that sees the car doesn't really ask why kind of car it is, but ask the color. They all say, makes sense, looks like lava. lol
