I have a 2018 manual GT3 & drove it to work on a VERY cold day.
The car is garaged at home so when I left it was 65 degrees in my garage.
I park in a covered parking area but it's outdoors & the temp was 20 degrees F.
After work, I started the car & could hear (what I think is) the throw out bearing..it sounded like a bad bearing would sound.
While still parked I pushed the clutch in & the noise disappeared..when I let the clutch out again it resumed.
As I drove the car for a while & things heated up the bearing quieted down completely.
So, do you folks think it's the fact that the TO bearing grease is so cold it couldn't do it's job until heated back up?
If so, how much damage is that initial wear actually doing to the TO bearing?
If this is the case the easy fix is to simply not drive the car under 32 degrees (guess) to avoid the premature wear.
Or, is my diagnosis incorrect?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts..
