Default Porsche Track Experience

just completed Porsche ptx I’m getting ready for my 3rs. Started with performance class and drove most of their cars except gt cars. Have to wait to take masters class for those. Wow am very impressed with the handling of and speed of all the cars they let us drive around barber track. I can’t wait to try for the masters class in the summer.

I did all 3 classes way back when...learned a lot. Plus Barber is one of my favorite tracks.

Got my 3rd class(Masters RS) lined up next, The normal and Masters were great classes. Hopefully I'll break a mental block on this next class.

Something to consider- a few times they will hold Masters followed by 1 day MastersR. Makes a great 3 days. The R class includes track sessions and skid pad and the proving grounds drift/cornering exercises. I think there is a discount for booking both.

Love hearing people do PSDS when buying a special car like an RS. So much more appreciation for what you've got.

I did the Masters and the G Force class a couple years back. Barber is an awesome track. instructors are pretty good for the most part - especially Hurley. it's funny that the most accomplished of all of them is the most humble by far.

Very nice!

Let me know if you ever have any questions. I was the Lead Instructor for PEC Atlanta and the team at Barber is top notch.

Cannot go wrong with Barber!

I plan on doing Masters and Masters RS when my family medical issues settle out. A buddy of mine has had really good things to say about the courses, Barber and the overall quality of the experience. When you factor in the cost per hour spent on track these courses are a pretty solid value versus taking your own car out on track at an HPDE day and of course you generally get excellent instruction.

I have done 2 Day M School and the Advanced M School out at Thermal which were pretty solid course, especially the Advanced course. Of course the M3/M4 and M2 are different animals versus the 911 or Cayman/Boxster so I am looking forward to experiencing those cars on track.

I'm thinking about doing the 2-day course later this year. Is insurance a thing for these classes? Does Porsche invite or require you to buy insurance?

Invite. Not require. Reduces your deductible. Costs maybe $100/day.

Question about Porsche Track Experience --

I have done the 2 day BMW //M school - absolutely loved it, learned a lot, etc.

I'd like to do the 2 day Porsche Masters course rather than start with the "beginner" Performance course. I am not at all interested in the Cayenne off road nonsense they pack into the beginner 2 day.

Anyone aware whether one can use the BMW //M school to fulfill the prerequisite of the Masters course?

Unless you know someone at Corporate you've got to start that the Beginner course. And if you some how do bypass the 1st course...it tends to **** off the instructors there.
