I love Waze as well, but have you guys noticed how the volume of Waze is so much louder than everything else? Can be very shocking if you have your music turned up.
I can't seem to adjust the volume on that. Apple/Google maps sounds fine.
CarPlay is also a great way to get SiriusXM in cars that don't have the wart or you let the subscription expire, (as long as you have it on another car) via the iPhone app
Whoa whoa...you are onto something here. That's the worst thing about XM is paying for each car when you don't drive each car enough to justify the I'm cancelling cost let alone the regular cost. So I just have it on my DD.

I also hate having the ugly wart on the roof, but would feel even worse if I wasn't getting any benefit from it (so I keep XM subscription)...
If I reduce volume on my phone, it reduces everything that's currently playing (streaming music, etc).
I checked the Waze app individually, and there's a volume slider bar, but it just adjusts volume on the entire phone.

Signes has it right. With CarPlay on, change the volume on the car while Waze is talking. This will lower only the Waze volume. Radio volume stays the same.
I'm not a big user of Waze but after seeing this thread I tried it out on Sunday in my DD and was coming down a long downhill stretch so speed had crept up. Saw a Cop on Waze and so slowed right down and sure enough there he was at bottom of hill with his speed gun hanging out the window. I'm certain this thread saved me a ticket Sunday morning. Thank you all!!
