That's why the SportAuto Supertest does a dyno test of each car - helps sort out this kind of thing...

Comparision between 2RS and 3RS lap times.

Nowhere is is there a 4+ second gap.

This is clearly provides evidence of BS afoot with those Pista times.

Like I said. Probably had a la 80's style single lap qualifying tires and ECU pushing those turbos to 850-900hp. No customer car will ever run that time nor will Ferrari allow one of their customers to take one to a magazine test without "black balling" them from future allocations.

ALL comments funny but accurate. Have a friend who is a "regular" Ferrari buyer/owner. He likes to track his cars. He was informed that should he publicly (i.e., social media) race his LaFerrari without prior approval and consent, he will be banned from further acquisition of the prancing horse.

Drive safe,

A press car Pista recently ran the 1/4 mile at close to 145mph, 3,300 lbs without driver, 2WD, 3.9TT, not even modified 800+ hp 991 GT2RS with better traction off the line, on a prepared drag way (not on street pavement) are touching 145mph, not even modified 720s and dynos show the 720S producing close to 800hp stock.

In this new turbo era, it’s now even easier for Ferrari to cheat. Just crank up the boost on their latest turbo press car just for the test.

There is no way a trofeo r is even close to being as quick as a Cup2 R. The Cup2 R is quicker than the standard cup2 by a frankly staggering amount.

Some real life data comparing the Cup 2, Cup 2 R and the Trofeo R.

However you might characterize the difference in lap times between the Cup 2 and Cup 2 R, the delta between the Trofeo R and Cup 2 R would not be a "staggering amount". At least not in my opinion.

I said the Cup2R was 'a staggering amount' quicker than the Cup2, 3.5 + seconds is imo a staggering amount.

I would also consider a tyre that is 2s slower around a 5km track a heck of a lot less quick and not 'in many respects actually stickier' which I suppose maybe you might.
