Get it to the dealer. I'm not sure about the AC fan thing you wrote about: maybe you've got some strange electrical issues with your car.

Do you have your door opened when pressing the button?

Good advice. This happened to my car last weekend. My son didn't close the door fully on his side.

I've never tried mine on an incline, maybe it won't go down on an incline?

If the door is open, or is opened during the actuation process, the lift will refuse to complete its actuation and return to the last position it was in (so up if it had being going up->down, down if down->up)

If it's anything else than that, something's definitely wrong and you should probably bring it in for service. The lift will absolutely actuate on an incline, many times I have forgotten it going into my garage and pressed it half-way into it while it's at some interesting angles.

Is there some type of a safeguard incase you leave the lift on after parking and shut off?

Nope and it's bad to leave the lift in up position when parked
