I can't be alone in thinking a GT2 would be WAY more appealing than the TTS Exclusive (basically just a TTS with some fancy bits, some of which are tacky).

"Exclusive" is just a bloatware cash grab. No cool factor like the GT2.
Couldn't agree more.

I don't see any connection between turbo exclusive and a gt2. That's a head scratcher to me?

Same here; a GT car pretty much stands alone. While the power may be similar to the turbo, the dynamics are WAY different.

That would be heaven sent.

I'm guessing they just don't have a place in the model lineup to place it.

Agree - would be a neat car to own. I presume price point north of GT3 and GT3RS.

Basically a turbo version of a GT3 manual?

I suggest you actually look into what the TTSE is from a performance POV.
It is much more that an appearance package and power wise slots between the 2RS and tts, which is I believe what the gt2 did.
But yes it obviously isn’t a gt2 ... that’s why I said one could make an argument, I didn’t say it would be a good one.

GT2 is now GT2RS
GT2 RS is now GT2 RS with WP.
Simple, isn't it.

And what is the most funny, is the fact that the base GT2 RS is now rarer than the GT2 RS with WP.

I'm sure you're right and I'm sure you know much more about it than I do. I remember looking at it when it came out. It didn't appeal to me at all and I don't remember it being remotely GT2-like, but I understand what you're saying.

Demand for the previous 997 Gt2 was low.

They should have a made a base GT2 with around 630 hp and manual transmission, keep the RS' PDK for ultimate lap times/Ring bragging rights.

GT2RS set up is perfect. Why would anyone want less that that?

Those wanting the budget version already have a non WP to choose plus the sofas option is available anyway along with sound upgrade and other leather features.

Because it would be another freakin Turbo

Soon all 20 plus variants will just be Turbos.- Meh-just boring and they all look so similar

When that comes they be cooked- better options out there

Difference btw the 997 GT2 & GT2RS was primarily weight reduction (if I'm not mistaken). So I suspect rather than introduce a standalone 991 GT2, Porsche simply opted to offer the WP as the weight reduction package! The 991.2 Turbo exclusive isn't the GT2 equivalent as its still AWD. Plus I believe marketing an RS 'Ring record smasher helps sellout the car quicker!
