+1. .2 GT3, if with back seats, would be my next street daily.

The 997 RS will always be more desirable than the 991 GT cars. The 997s were raw, with far less technology than the 991 gen. Porsche basically had no choice but to add tech like rws to stay competitive. In dong so they took a lot of rawness out of the cars. So if you wanted something that you could drive occasionally, without putting a ton of miles on them, the 997 RS is the one you want.

If, however, you want a car you can drive without worrying about depreciating your “investment,” the 991 is a fabulous car. It is not hyperbola to say it is “better” and “more capable” than the 997 in every way possible. It represents the best engineering Porsche can muster, and it puts cars to shame at twice the price. Equally awesome on track or on the street, it is a car you should be racking the miles up on. Fortunately, I doubt the 991 gen will ever be collectors, which is great because it would be the kiss of death in terms of actually driving them.

So, what do you want? An investment or a driver? Personally, if i had a few toys and could spread the weekend miles between cars, the 997 RS is the easy choice. But i have limited garage space, so 991 it is.

I think it's so crazy that every year, the new car is always too "modern" and "refined" it will never be a collector's car...

When my dad bought his 2007 gt3, no one ever thought it was going to be collectible. Everyone was still so high horse on the air cooled (and he had a 993, still does) being the last of the "real" Porsches. The 2007 gt3 was water cooled and HUGE and exhaust wasn't like the old porsches....I thought when he sold it in 2013 or 14 for 75k he was taking someone to the cleaners because I honestly thought the car shouldn't be worth that....and now those are desirable and they are so much more "analog" and "raw" and the last of the blah blah

At some point you guys have to realize this just keeps going on...

That being said, gt3 rs is more collectible...If you want to daily the car buy the 991.2 gt3, if this is a fun car, buy the 997.2 gt3 rs. Side Note: the 2003 Gt2 will be collectible, porsche has made a zillion gtt3's and Gt2' rs's and 3 Rs's recently.... CALL ME CRAZY BUT there were only 324 2003-05 Gt2's made.....THAT WILL BE COLLECTIBLE in 10-20 years. If I was buying a porsche for an "investment" it would 100% be that one and I hate turbos too!

I asked Andy Preuninger about this at Rennsport 3 yrs ago - he said they will never have back seats.... definitely a shame.
