My 991.1 GT3 is worth under $110k, possibly even under $100k ... but it has 54k miles.

Good for you on the miles. I'll assume you've extracted way more in fun than the drop in value.

my research yielded that anything 15% below MSRP is a good deal, especially CPO. Of course it also depends on mileage. GLWS

10-!2K miles seems to be the changeover point in pricing. Below that, they are still in the $130s, above that and they drop rapidly..

that seems so odd to me, in terms of logic.

is that depreciation slope based on mileage abnormally flatter before the 10-12k mark or is it the depreciation curve abnormally steeper after the 10-12k mark?

why 10-12k? there seems to be consensus that a well maintained, regularly driven motor to be more likely reliable over a garage queen motor that ran a thousand miles per year. but market valuation obviously differs. *scratches head*

Doesn't depend on any of that.

How soon has everything to do with the economy...a few more days like today, and they will be under $110k before end of the month.

Yes. Makes zero sense. I could be wrong, but I think this whole miles fixation thing is highly American. These are solid cars. Mileage seems to be a bigger factor with Ferraris.....seems like most guys buy 'em, park 'em, Cars & Coffee, then sell 'em with hardly any miles....What's the point?
These cars are meant to be driven. If you're not going to drive it, then buy the poster.
Depreciation happens. These are NOT investments.
My approach is, if it's worth something when I sell it, great. If not, so be it. That's not why I bought it.

Sheesh, I got suckered into another valuation thread.....

this is probably caused by those videos/schemes in the past 5 years or so marketing that you can own and drive exotic cars for free, even when u cant really afford to own them

Popping this thread back to the top instead of creating a new one. Hopefully we can get it updated with 2020 numbers. Been dreaming of owning a GT3 one day and planning to start shopping for one this year. What the going fair price now?
  • Less 20K Miles - ?
  • More 20K Miles - ?
  • What's the high-end versus the low-end pricing?
  • What's the hard stop price before you should start looking for .2 models?

With the 991.1 engine nuance, I place less stock on mileage versus any other GT variant but more so on the production year. There's not too much of a reward for keeping the miles off; meanwhile, the production date dictates the extended warranty length.

You can find some close to 100k and some in the 125k range, there are a lot of variables. Personally, given that .2's are starting to pop up with asking prices of $150k, I'd have a tough time justifying anything over $128-130k... and even then it would probably have to be a well-optioned 2016.

I'd say the median example is a 2015 (since they made the most of them) with ~15k miles should be in the $115-120k range.
