Question Should I be worried about losing WP on my RS by making changes to my build?

As the title states, I want to make some minor spec changes to my RS build but I'm worried that I'll lose WP if I make any changes. Is that a legit concern? This is for a Dec allocation that locks at the end of the month.

Not worth the risk. You'll kick yourself in the *** if you lose WP

I made some minor changes to my build 2 weeks ago (November build that delivered in January). I have WP. My changes was leather vents and leather dash with yellow stitching on both. My order went from V200 back to V110 for about a week and then back to V200. They accepted the changes and WP did not go away. Only bad thing is my delivery went from 1/18/19 to 2/22/19. So my bet is you won't lose WP but you will probably lose time.

You just never know with these specs, one little move here or there could bump something simply based on the timing or what ever the Porsche Gods determine. It's a very fickle thing, I've had configs change by doing nothing and I've added had the addition of simple things kick off major changes. Usually it's a delay in time only but with supply lines being so unpredictable I would take caution. If you can add the changes aftermarket or through Suncoast Porsche Parts I would do that. I tried to get Yellow door handle pulls but was told that would delay my car and then Denied by Porshce AG, went to Suncoast and bought them for an easy install at my dealer. As a general rule I try to solidify my build early and leave it be as the fickle beast that is Porsche is just not worth taunting

Just making sure my understanding is correct. If WP was locked in you will still get it. If want WP on a new build that’s not locked in you won’t get it. So if one makes changes to an existing build with WP THEY RISK LOSING WP? I wouldn’t touch a thing if that’s the case

From an email from PCNA to my dealer on updating my build after they yanked my PTS...:
"Please follow my instructions for updating Nate’s build. DO NOT USE THE PORSCHE CODE TO UPLOAD THE BUILD. Wessiach is secured on this car and if we remove it, it will be permanently deleted and there is no possibly of adding it back. Therefore, you must amend this order manually line by line using the build sheet as your guide for options and comment entry. "

I wanted to make some minor changes but my dealer strongly advised against it. I really don't want to lose the Weissach package. The other smaller stuff I can live with. So I left it alone.

I would not take the risk, as others have said it may be minor changes but Porsche are probably looking for excuses just to drop your WP because of all the issues they have meeting supply.

I have WP and I will keep my build unchanged.

Make the change to buy the car you want. If Porsche says no, then tell Porsche to go f themselves. I'm positive you will live through the tragic experience of not owning your own personalized 991.2 RS. It's going to be a wine and dine trash anyways. You'll regret it for a few months and then 992 RS comes and you move on. Who gives a chit what's actually on the build?

Are you serious? What did you change? I wanted to change the seat belts from Red to Miami Blue and change the nipples back to black from Miami Blue. Ok, I'll leave well enough alone as all my major options have been selected.

I'm confused as to how making changes to a build has anything to do with another option on the build being removed. I don't see the cause/effect.

Furthermore, let's say for argument's sake that you make a change and WP magically is removed. How could it not be immediately added back? If your build currently has WP which equates to PAG confirming it has material capacity for WP for your car, if WP is removed, it could be added back. It's not like the WP materials have vanished for that build the second WP is removed.

All of the above is based on logic and reason, so it could be completely wrong.

I lost mine as well, though truth be told... We all know there is no real value to a weissach car in the states... $18k for CF sway bars...

If it has come with the titanium roll cage, I'd have been upset, and saw the value.

I do think you can make the change, just don't upload a new Porsche code, like my dealer did.

Best Regards,
Dave

^ Seems to be correct. Add or change within an existing order where WP not touched = fine. Deleting everything and trying to add it all again w code is a no go since the system won't allow it to be added back. Feels like a well connected SA could call PCNA and explain, then again maybe not.
