My 3RS has the Dunlop’s not the Cup 2s. Should I ask them to switch tires to the Cup

Are all those that are mentioning the MPSC2 referencing specifically the 'R' version (rather than N0, N1, etc...) that was new for the .2 3RS? Not attempting to split hairs but I thought the 'R' was significantly improved, enough so that the 'Ring lap time was semi-controversial and then many asked what other cars would have run (i.e. GT2 RS) if they had the same 'R' spec MPSC2. There were even dedicated threads discussing the 'R' compound.

Appreciate this thread. Just found out my new GT3 Touring came with the Dunlops and was at first disappointed until reading all the praise for them above. Guess I shouldn’t worry.

I received my Gt2 with Dunlop, also i was disappointed in a first time.
Change denied from Porsche, obviously.
But these tires are more confident than Michelin Cup.
The Michelin have a point where less the grip without advice.
The Dunlop are confidential ever, especially on wet and on dry have a great traction.
Those tires for GT car are very special tires, for all brands, and i think that the Porsche choice on them is not without previous tests.

I have tested it against the MPC2 N1 back to back on my .1RS, new for new on the same day/track (a GP track} and it netted the fastest times.
7 of the top 10 times of the day, including the top three times. - Not a staggering amount but enough to convince me to change to it.
I have since found it is even a bit quicker running a fair bit more pressure than we were used to running in the Michelin.
*(I haven’t tested the new N2 or R)

Can't believe this thread is 6 pages long. On the track they are equals. The cups on the street have the advantage of lasting slightly longer. My preference is the cups and my RS has the cups, but the Dunlop's are fine tires.

do need Dunlop Race2 longer time to grip than Cup2?
Has Dunlop Race2 softer compound too?
Feel like Cup2 is to "harsh, stiff" on 991.2RS, you lose grip on rough backroad surface if you push. Cup2R feels better there.
No experience so far with Dunlop or Trofeo on this roads...anyone can say anything about it?
