Hi All, I've been in the market for a .1 GT3 for a while, followed the COG meeting with Porsche closely, and pretty read up on the 10 year engine warranty, etc.
I'm looking at this particular '14 GT3, the dealer (Beachwood) claims it has a 10 year "new vehicle warranty" that ends 2024. I asked if he meant the 10 year engine warranty due to the finger follower issue etc he says no, this is a comprehensive warranty. I asked so if Navi goes out in 5 years it's covered under warranty he says according to this warranty YES. He sent me a screen shot that "proves this."
I am so confused. I can't imagine this car possibly having a comprehensive 10 year warranty. Can someone shed a light on this for me? I've attached where the Porsche internal notes shows the "New Vehicle Warranty" good through 8/2024.
Ask the GM and he'll tell you it is just the engine.
"Also, I did confirm the warranty discussed is bumper to bumper until 8/20/24. Did you see the warranty info I sent over earlier?"
"I spoke with my service writers who have had to reach out to Porsche to verify warranty for similar other 2014 GT3 Clients. This is what Porsche directly told my service department."
Those are what the sales guy emailed me after I questioned him again on the 10 year comprehensive warranty.
I own 14 as well it is an e engine. Dealr is trying to seel me their yearly warrenty. When i asked if my car has a warrenty they kept running away. They have said ur car is 4 years old and warrenty has ended already. I asked again this car is special case look it up. The kept saying no sir no sir ur car do t have a warrenty. I said put the vin number check history before i speak to someone higher and complain. They said. Oops it says something about engine components has warenty til 2024 but not the whole engine. Bluffing. But rest a sure engine is covered for 10 years.
i have a question . Is transmission covered ? And how good gt3 .1 transmission??
Ask to see the warranty booklet delivered with the car and also the letter from PCNA documenting the engine internal component warranty. Then ask them to provide further written documentation of a comprehensive warranty. A "screen shot" form some system would not be sufficient if I were a prospective buyer nor would oral statement from a sales person. Finally ask them for the purchase documents that would be delivered and signed. Generally State laws require disclosure of warranty or no warranty sold as-is documentation.
in Writing from the dealer, if the car is what you want at a reasonable price, I would buy it.
Legally, the dealer, as with any other seller, is responsible for discharging the warranty he gave you, which is a "Legal Contract" between buyer and seller.
Porsche may, or may not, have been involved in that decision as a special case, but the Dealer certainly is.

That is only true if it is on the sales contract and related federally/sate required disclosure documents. The dealer can show you anything they want before that and it is not binding, especially if it is from a sales person (who has no legal authority to enforce contracts on the dealer) and not the GM. At best, you would have a (weak) claim to void the original contract due to misrepresentation.
as per my service manager *(here in my neighborhood). per their computer system, the 10 yr is the motor/powertrain warranty, not sure why porsche corporate logs this as "new vehicle warranty" and there is actually still cpo left on this car, until 8/20/2019.
Congrats! FYI this is what my local dealer pulled up for me on this car. It shows the 2024 warranty is Engine Only. He said it clearly shows in the system and not sure why the original dealer/sales person was so confused by it.
Yepper, that's why it's good to know more than the SA.

Did you buy the car? Then it's congrats to you, my friend!
