2RS deal
#96
Haven’t posted for a long time. I know of a non PTS WP 2RS that just went for @190k over. Not sure where the car is headed but it sold in my neck of the woods. Had been driven so not delivery miles but sub 1000.
Like many (most?) on here I buy the cars to enjoy them. I am lucky enough to get them at MSRP and have the three GT cars coming in the next 4 months. My GT3 MT has been a long time coming as it’s a special project car.
Heading to germany later this month to get the 3RS but it’s non PTS non WP. I had had enough of the PTS CXX headaches on the other 2 cars and just wanted something to be ordered (granted I ticked most of the boxes of the available options) and produced in a relatively normal time frame.
People are telling me to hold the NA GT cars as the 992s May be turbo. I will hold them if when I look at them I still want to drive them. I will give them back to the dealer I’d i don’t want them and not flip them though I know some consider this flipping. My choice.
I have been focusing on classics the last 2 years and getting much more enjoyment there both in purchasing (it is what it is since it’s alreasy been produced) and driving.
Nice to see a thread about value (at least loosely) where civility is prevailing. Maybe the bickering thread is working.

A couple of dealers that I talked with told me that they are not listing their GT2RS until next summer. They believe they will be $600,000+ cars after the first wave of 918 sellers sell off for a quick profit.
One dealer told me only 167 cars coming to the US per their local sales rep.

A lot more cars coming and no one thinks prices will increase.

If I were selling a 2018 GT3 or GT2 RS, I'd wait until April 2019, too. With production long over by that point, nice weather around the corner, and the market likely dried up (at least compared to now), waiting until spring seems like the obvious play.

I think you are right. Many sales guy is saying the same thing because the next iteration is not until six years from now.
Drive safe,
