AWE vs Blackmill Wind deflectors
Hi folks,
Our PCA Region Mandates open windows. I have a 2014 GT3 and the percussion from the buffeting was painful to my ears. I installed the AWE bits which reduced the buffeting by 50%, ie from painful to annoying. The Blackmill eliminated abojt 90% of the buffeting where it wasn’t an issue at all. YMMV

If you leave the windows just an inch up, it helps. You can get away with doing that with most "windows down" track policies.
Awe vs blackmill...one looks better, the other works better. That's the trade-off.

Blackmill items looked to be stuck on, AWE is an injection molded item and looks OEM.
But nice to know that one is more functional.

You don't need a lot of deflection to fix problem. I've used AWE and had zero problems....and they look stock. They had crappy initial quality when they first came out but latest examples are much better imo.

Did not like the idea of taking down door and window trim on a brand new car, so I did not like the AWE nor the GMG versions. Went with the Blackmill product. Works well, looks great, no need to open any trim to install.

On the .2 (and some .1s) you do not need to remove any door or window trim, install is very easy.

I just installed AWE parts. tgibrit is correct, install is very easy and does not require door panel removal on the .2's. The first set I received one of the brackets was broken. I emailed AWE and they promptly sent out a new set for me. Wind buffeting has been dramatically reduced at speeds < = 100ish. I can't comment on track speed results. They do look OEM.

I have AWE and they fixed the buffeting issue

While the AWE looks good, it does not fully solve he wind buffeting. Like mentioned in this thread, the “wings” need more extension to fully quiet it at very high speeds on track.

Have the AWE, took it to VIR and it performed flawlessly at speeds over 150mph! Looks the part as well. Gets my vote!
