Default Carbon Fiber Oil Tank for GT Cars

Though my photography leaves something to be desired (e.g., like a photographer), here is a picture of the first carbon fiber oil tank for a Porsche GT car (future ones can be made a bit better looking as most carbon fiber parts become as the person doing the actual lay up gets more adept at making the particular part). Everything except outlets and inlets is carbon fiber using a high temperature resin system. Outlets and insets are titanium (sorry for the strange color or bubble wrap but the outlets and inlets are protected from admitting dust by tape or the wrap until the part is installed). Interior (all carbon fiber) conforms 100% to the latest Porsche specification with additional baffling to prevent starvation (i.e., this tank also upgrades .1 oil tanks to latest). The white area is a special coating to the portion of the oil tank that
is closest to the exhaust.

How much weight does it save? Beautiful piece of work!

Really beautiful piece, almost art!

This is a mission-critical piece which faces a ton of heat and mechanical stress. What's the thinking behind converting this from old-school-steel into CF?

Weight savings is approximately 5 pounds.

Stress and heat have been taken into account in design and materials used. As you know, all carbon fiber resin systems are not alike and the appropriate one was chosen for the purpose as was the layup designed accordingly.
