If Porsche invested all the time they did into that Speedster and then only sold 70 of them, they'd be the dumbest auto manufacturer on the planet. The won't make very many, but it'll be a lot more than 70. The worst byproduct of the Internet is that the proverbial 15 minutes of fame gets artificially extended at times.

I find it pretty amazing that some are inclined to believe this rumor over AP! I'm sure everyone on this board has watched Carfection's AP interview about the Speedster. Sure,AP has a good history of misinformation,but if we believe Shmee over him " what has the World come to?! " When he's asked whether they'll be making 356 of them as an homage to the 356,he said that will probably be too low and that they will build " as many as production capacity allows "...whatever that means...
