Default Track app

I'm really annoyed that I can't get it to "start."

I had it on my 991.1 GT3 and it worked perfect.

Can't get it to work on the 991.2.

Hooks up to WiFi, is connected to the car GPS.

Ugh....

Any thoughts?

Sometimes it works flawlessly. Sometimes it does nothing. I don't know why.

I just connected and configured it yesterday in a .2 GT3. It seems to work well and I did watch a couple of setup videos, first. My issue is that none of the tracks I will be going to are in the database. I am headed to Mid Ohio in a couple of weeks and there is a procedure to record the track and then store it on the app. But, I would rather have it already setup so I don't have to worry about it. It seems like you can export your data but not sure if you can export a "track" so that someone else can import it? Any help would be appreciated.

Was at Watkins glen last week , track app worked good on my .1 but could not get it to work on my .2
when connected to the car my iPhone says no internet connection thus the app would not work

read on another thread that it’s an iPhone setting that needs to be changed to allow internet connection when there is no actual WiFi.

i could not find a solution to get it to work
open to suggestions

They've been working on it for 4 years now.
So, I suggest buy a VBox and check back in with Porsche in another 4 years.

Lets also keep Chevy video's to the developers so they can just copy that perhaps and ditch this app.

that would of been a simple solution if gm figured this out several years ago , why porsche can’t replicate and simplify is beyond me

I did not have a problem connecting to the wifi with an iPhone 7. I enabled wifi on phone. Then with ignition on but car not running I went into the wifi settings. It gives you a password which was not GT3 + the vin, it was a random generated password. I put that in my phone and it connected up.

Correct no issue connecting to the car but when you try to start recording on the track the app won’t give you a green ready icon because no internet connection. I have iPhone 7 and x same issue on both

Are you at a known track? If not, you will have to record one around local roads.

Today I think I have figured out that support for car GPS was dropped for the .1 PCM so you either have to use phone GPS or an external. Sucks. Used to work and doesn’t now.

Just went to the car and re-established a WiFi connection. Then it still says no internet connection under the WiFi.

Do we have to set some special DNS or proxy setting or IP address?

Or is this a software glitch between PCM4 and the iPhone?

Who do we ask?

I'd recommend deleting everything and then going through it step by step with the owners manual. Something doesn't sound right.

Best Regards,
Dave

I’m pretty sure the app doesn’t need an internet connection, and the wifi settings are just reporting that having joined the pcm hotspot, it doesn’t have any. I’ve used it happily in the past in other countries with no data roaming. Likely the issue is something else.
