The sort of left the door open for other possibilities with the name - Rear Wheel Series. Series of one? Or more?
More RWS models in Audi's line-up in the future, I imagine. I'm not certain if it's true but I read the R8 RWS is Audi's first RWD-only road car - and I'd be surprised if it was the last in the RS line-up.
The OP: Why not just DD the GT3T? I thought that was the whole point of the thing.
Because doesn't work as a family car therefore limited daily vehicle. My Sport Turismo is also much better for these roads and a better DD in most cases. What surprises me is that theGT3T rides more stiff than my old GT4 but I am careful where I take it since they are patching potholes from the winter.
An R8 is even less practical than a GT3. Even less storage space if you can believe it!
Although both could be a great DD if you only need 2 seats.
It does look more exotic if that matters.
Which keys would you grab if you had a GT3 sitting next to an R8?
In Canada, the ONLY option is black or white, that's it..... I'm in the Greater Toronto Area and had to drive ~400km to Ottawa to get mine.... and was told by all the GTA Audi dealers (about 8-10 of them?) that all R8 RWS allocations have been spoken for since last fall/winter.... I missed out on the 911.2 GT3 lottery therefore I'm going with the R8 RWS, hope this will hold value enough to give me some equity towards perhaps a 992 GT3 down the road....
Anyone know if it is difficult to get an allocation at sticker for the R8 RWS? My local dealership is very small and said they may not get one. I joined R8talk to ask this question but the site keeps freezing my computer.
Only thing easier to get might be herpes from a $20 hooker.
The R8, in any style, unfortunately is just not moving. Only thing harder to move might be the new NSX.

My .2 GT3 every time unless I was looking for a more Touring type of day. I had a 2011 V10 Spyder that I bought with 2000 miles in 2013 and drove it for 3 months and traded for a 2014 .1 allocation. Exoctic looking sure but driving it was not that inspiring

Audi Queensway, Midtown, Downtown, Uptown, Pfaff, HJ Pfaff, Mississauga, Brampton, Owasco, Oakville so 10. One of them was lying to you about available allocations.
