This thread a testament on the potential coolness of RL , these guys coming to know each other being the first and the second owner of the same car .
To me that's pretty cool
It's a worthless 2RS - why on God's green Earth would you spec the rubber dash! Give it to me
Congrats on an absolutely wicked machine from another "rubber dash" owner (plain ol GT3). I have it in my car also and the last thing on my mind is what the interior even looks like, I am willing to bet you will have the same experience.
Oh and you're not the only "fool" (as RL might lead you to believe) with a 2RS with standard interior option. This guy must be an "idiot" or have "poor taste" too, oh wait I think he was too busy driving/enjoying/tracking his car at Imola that I witnessed first hand
edit - pics below have terrible WiFi at the moment
Yes, it is an MSRP car. But I didn't even know there were non MSRP cars until I read about them on this board. PNH sells all their cars at MSRP because their focus is the customer. And I'm not a 918 guy. I've just had a relationship with the dealer - they've always treated me like a VIP so I've just bought cars from them. They've been fair selling me cars and been fair buying them back. When a VIP wanted to move his build to the end of the production cycle, Billy Bennett and Gerald Tito called me and asked if I'd like an early car. My car has been in Houston for nearly a month, it had been stuck at the port for about a month and I'd get a texts from Gerald and Billy daily about it. They finally rescued it.
I'm thrilled to have the car, but bummed about the daily jokes about customs taking my car for a spin or the ferris bueller meme. Not only do they have a good sense of humor, they are a truly a customer focused dealer, and when you have that right, people buy cars there, which results in more allocations. When I had trouble with my land rover recently, Billy found someone to fix it at their Lambo store who is land rover certified, picked up the car, and fixed it. Different dealer, different cost center, but same customer - that's their focus.
Not surprised at the very least. Congrats on the allocation, enjoy in good health. I've had the pleasure of having worked with John and Billy at PNH since last July and to say they have been absolutely great to work with would be an understatement. They've always made me feel like a local valued customer and are regular guys like many of us, nothing that any of these So Cal stealers could do. Every opportunity that I get, I drop by and grab lunch with them.
I have rubber dash on this one too and get a lot of negative comments about it. I'm going to post a thread for my next build and crowd source it.
Looks slow. I’m at the Grand Prix of Long Beach and the P-cars sound great. They just scream and actually remind me a little of my 991.2 GT3 at COTA with the BBi bypass.
Speaking of which, is there any exhaust mods yet for the GT2RS?
Congratulations on the beautiful new machine! The new car feel is so wonderful.
Not to prolong the ridiculous dash thing but my current car has all leather everywhere and my incoming .2 RS has a rubber dash and very few interior options because I don't give two craps about the damn leather and other useless garbage.
Enjoy!
Lovely stroll through Zuffenhausen this evening, just want to say this GT2RS *also* has the disgusting/loathesome rubber dash... this owner must be an idiot too
It's perfect as is! Congrats! Those of us who live in 100 degree weather with 100% humidity, need no explanation on the leather dash ;-) Hope to see it around town someday.
