Sounds like you were lucky. My carbon fiber trim was really really really hard to remove. Some of the clips dug into the pins on the trim piece and the tabs got bent up when the trim was pulled up. New clips are easy to get though. After I removed the trim, I cut off one tab from each clip so it's easy to remove now but seems to be secure enough.

 

How were you able to remove that plastic trim with the 12V socket. I am having trouble doing so, and need to know for a upcoming project. Thank you!
