Guys what do you think? Worth it? I can't be certain, but doesn't the 3RS already have a carbon fiber hood and rear wing? So paying more Porsche just leaves off the paint? Mirrors/cosmetic. Steering wheel trim/Paddles =DB Carbon. Plaque and Seat Stitching again are cosmetic. We do not get the OEM cage in the US...so other than the Carbon Fiber Rolls bars/Links......Not really sure its worth it?
The Weissach package includes the following:
Exterior
Exposed carbon fiber front lid
Exposed carbon fiber roof instead of standard magnesium roof saves approximately 1.1 lb (0.5 kg)
Exposed carbon fiber rear wing with large ‘PORSCHE’ logo
Exposed carbon fiber mirror housings
Interior
Steering wheel trim and gearshift paddles in carbon fiber save approximately 0.6 lb (0.3 kg)
Additional plaque on cupholder cover with Weissach package logo
Headrests embroidered with Weissach package logo.
Chassis
Anti-roll bars and end links in carbon fiber (front and rear) save approximately 11.7 lb (5.3 kg)
For me the selling point is the Ti cage (non-US). Everything else, incl. the exposed CF hood and "weissach" embroidery is tacky to the max--hideous and Civic-Type-R-like.
That, and the carbon black bits just don't work with the launch color.
Researching to see if I can somehow mitigate this. I think it'll be somewhat better with a match-painted center stripe (2RS style) on those CF panels...
^ how do you konw? you had civic type R? i speak from experience and with spring cut at -8* camber hahahaha. and coffee can exhaust
your pic show hood is shinny not matte like 997.2GT2RS. whew, i love it. this way i just saved $30k, no need for WP. i have the tokyo package on my civic already and even has neon diffuser lights.
^ I agree... I'm having a hard time with the exposed carbon hood. Looks too much like my old rice rockets. Think I'm going to end up spec'ing Non WP unless I can get the hood painted CXX.
Location: The way to hell is paved by good intentions “Wenn ich Purist höre...entsichere ich meinen Browning” "Myths are fuel for marketing (and nowadays for flippers too,,,)" time to time is not sufficient to be a saint, you must be also an Hero

That's the spirit mooty!!
Cops regularly harass JDM guys in my neck of the woods. You know, the CF-hood-dive-planes-plus-raised-spoiler lot. With the WP 3RS I'll have a black-card membership to the "good morning officer you can now tow my ride" club
Jokes aside I really can't fathom what the Porsche styling guys were thinking when they OK'd this car's WP. Must've been Oktoberfest??
Am personally not a fan of the WP. Wish instead they had given the option towards pure track use and ease of maintenance/set-up: Nomex seats, drop centre locks and maybe even rear wheels 20 inch, drop the rws and swap the external CF parts for cheaper materials.

I hoped that there will be "Cup car package" which saves a weight at least 100kg (as Kaizu mentioned on another thread)
No WP for me. I think that the WP is all about just marketing...
I'm in the UK and hoping to get the new RS with WP early next year.I only want the WP if i can have the Mag wheels to go with the Titanium cage to get the full 29Kg weight saving..If i was in the US however i wouldn't even consider the WP especially as you can't even spec Mag wheels right now.
The only justification to spec WP in the US now is if someone was in love with the carbon hood and roof or have money to burn.
