Default GT 991.1 Help Please

I have an acquaintance who is trying to sell his 2015 GT. (F engine,.... that was not originally replaced), with PDK and close to 5,000 miles (he says very little track time).

I am an old porsche nut who has not had a recent porsche in 20 years. I originally was looking for a 991.2 C4S for a 3-4 times a week driver. I do understand the dramatic difference between the two cars. Of coarse, he allowed me to take car to local track and now I have the bug.

I do know of the problems these engines and their gearboxes have had. I started looking for a reasonable priced G engine but cannot find much that I like.

What I am asking guys is: "I probably should just stay away from 991.1 cars and look for higher priced 991.2 cars to avoid problems correct?" I am trying to avoid paying 150k and having issues.

As you can tell I am just a novice and looking for advice. Thank you for your time!

If you buy the 2015 with the F engine and it fails, won't they replace it under that new extended engine warranty?

Should have a 120K mile warranty. Better than the new car...

TPup thanks!

Might you know if it expires anytime? Maybe 10 years?

Just look at the sticky thread above. Engine issues should not be a concern.

With the extended engine warranty, this is as good as it gets. Where else are you going to get that kind of a warranty without paying dearly ? It is one of the reasons I bought a .1
