Whether to tint or not is a personal decision.

But in terms of what type of tint to get, especially to avoid interference with electronic devices, go ceramic.

Had 3M crystalline 40% and 70% on the windshield. Great heat rejection as 110 degrees in the summer is normal here. It is an expensive tint, but won't interfere with elections such as a radar detector.

I went with FormulaOne Pinnacle from Llumar. It’s a ceramic tint. Has great clarity and glare / heat rejection. Very happy with it.

Tint affects your visibility, so I see it as a NO on a sports car....especially one you will track.

I don't like the way tinting looks on sports cars. If it's too bright, wear sun glasses. If you need privacy, wait until you get home with your girlfriend before getting busy. (also, don't pick in your 911, the second owner will be unknowingly thankful).

What about if you live in an area where temps reach 117 degrees ?
How much will those sunglasses help ?
Comfort aside, the leather dash would severely fade and crack over time
Ya think ?

+1 and get clear tint on your windshield to save your leather dash.

Living in the NE, I don't think that way. Point taken for those hot sunny climates. I just see so much tinting in cooler climates and don't care for it. Subjective topic I guess, just like paint & wheel color.

I use a reflective dash map in hot Georgia summers.

Only car I won't tint is my 964. Doesn't look right on "classics".
Had Crystaline on my RS3 and it did the job, but it had a little bit of that "candy paint" colored look in certain sunlight. I prefer more black appearance so now only going with ceramics even if I know it's a slightly worse product. 50-60% crystaline on the front wind shield for heat purposes, can't tell a difference for some reason there.

LLumar has their Stratos series which is very good. I like it has much as the Crystalline and has less "candy paint" look on the outside under certain sunlight. I put their Pinnacle series on my BMW(DD) and Stratos on the .2

Anyone here have experience with Huper Optik 60? Also do you guys tint your windshield *and* protect it with clearplex? Moe says for sensitive eyes could create a bit of distortion to do both, so I'll likely pick one or the other. New to all of this..
