Default 0wners of 991.2 Guards Red GT3s with Xenon PDLS

I’m struggling with my one remaining option decision for my .2 GT3. I have the Black Xenon PDLS headlights on my .1 GR GT3. I love them and would prefer to order them again, but Porsche won’t let me as the only .2 GT3 PDLS options are the Xenon PDLS or the Black LEDs PDLS.

Overall I prefer the look of Xenons both lights off and lights on. The LEDS are also neutered in the USA, so only low beams are brighter, and they weigh 10lbs more.

That said, I love the black headlights on my .1 and how they matched the dark black voids of the front air intakes. There are a lot more black bits on the .2, however I plan to paint the side mirrors, endplates, and rear air intakes back to Guards Red on my .2, so I’m thinking maybe I don’t 100% need black headlights on my .2, but I still loved them on my .1.

I recognize that the xenon PDLS headlights are darker than the non PDLS headlights, but I don’t know if it will be enough for me as I really need to personally, (in the flesh), see the Xenon PDLS headlights on a .2 Guards Red GT3 to decide. I have already seen black LEDs on a .2 GR GT3 and did like the color.

I’m in SoCal , but spend time in the Bay Area and also Colorado, so if someone anywhere in California or Colorado owns or will soon own a .2 Guards Red GT3 with Xenon PDLS headlights, please shoot me a PM, as I would be grateful if I could look at your cars exterior for 5 minutes so I can make the final decision on this .2 GT3 that I plan to own for at least a decade.

Thanks.

If the led’s were a no cost option, would you order them? Personally I think you crazy not to order them. The black trim and interior of the led’s on GR are essential for the overall look of the car. Especially if your going to paint the items you alluded to.

cost has no influence on this. I’m even trying to find out if I can install .1 black Xenon headlights after the car arrives which I’d have to purchase separately costing me $2000 more than just ordering the black LEDs.

My issues are 1-weight, as LEDs weigh 10lbs more and I’m concerned for weight as I’ll be tracking the car.
2- really prefer the look of the Xenons, both just shape of the bulbs, but also the pattern of running lights over the LEDs.

I am no way in a position to reply since I am in the same dilemma as you but IF I was getting a red car, I would get black LED no questions asked. Red really doesn't do too well with silver rim of xenon PDLS.

thank you. I did see those, but this is one of those things I have to see for myself in sunlight, to be able to make the call.

If looking for a total blacked out look, Black PDLS LED. I went with PDLS Xeons, mostly black, but gray ring. PDLS Xeons are the best value and I think it looks the best, both running and parked.

thank you Chris. Those indoor photos look great! I could definitely live with that.

My big concern is how dark the .2 Xenon PDLS headlights are in direct sunlight. (As I live in sunny Southern California)

In bright sunlight the chrome insides dominate (IMO).

Solved the riddle. On right .2 GT3T Xenon no PDLS, center is .2 Carrera with Xenon and PDLS, left is my .1 GT3 with Black Xenons. Picture taken in direct sunlight facing the sun.

I still overall prefer the black xenons of my .1 GT3, but was pleasantly surprised with how dark the .2 Xenon PDLS looked, even in direct sunlight.
I prefer the look of the xenon bulbs over the LEDs, and the lighter weight and lower cost of the Xenons, so after seeing all three side by side, it made my decision easier to choose Xenons with PDLS for my .2 GT3.
