PS I guess this is why Porsche Aus/NZ makes them mandatory, only way to move something that doesnt work!.

Here is the answer to your question. No I have not had any issues with the lift. I use it every time I take the car off the lift in my garage. No issues. Drive and enjoy the car. My car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

I think I would be missing my entire front bumper if I didn't get the lift. Driving on a narrow & winding road, lo and behold giant a** speed bumps come out of nowhere and to top it off a truck driver is riding my a** since I am audacious enough to drive the speed limit on a tiny winding road with blind corners. My father as passenger fumbles and quickly hits the lift which works fast and effective so we can clear the sudden speed bumps at speed without slowing down/trying to ease over them and in the process endanger the car due to the truck driver. God bless the lift system

Any updates on the Lift failure?

BTW, I can see why the lift might be important to you!

Did you get the "Chalk" color option - not a spot of silver in that rear view

By design, the front lift will not operate when either door is open (not that I think that this was the cause of the OP's lift failure).

RS gets dirty too. The GT3 is being trucked up by Porsche to the dealer [only 3 in entire country] for repair -- 1600 km one way.

PS 5k miles with no lifts - they're not any more needed than on my GT4 which had none.

Don't have it on my 2014 GT3.1 now for sale on Cars.com, Autotrader and EBay. Never needed it in 24,000 Miles but I approach Steep driveways
cautiously and at an angle, and speed bumps slowly. With only an extra inch of clearance, I would do the same WITH a lift.
VERY Occasionally the bottom of the replaceable plastic spoiler edge will scrape, but never caused any visible damage. No metal contact ever.
I still have the original front spoiler which still looks pristine. Cost of lift will more than pay for several new inexpensive plastic spoilers if needed.
Based on this, and to save weight, cost and complexity, I did not spec a lift with my new GT3.2.

Agreed. My US '18 Gt3 has no lifts and PCCB [and LWB like the NZ] to minimise orderable weight. It's difficult to convince gadget guys that lifts are just 15 lbs of unneeded weight all the way at the end of the polar moment - the worst possible place for it. Now with the non working mandatory lifts on this car, I have proof you don't need them. I went over all the same tall square speed bumps, that I used the lifts for in my 2015 GT3, in the '18 with broken lifts with absolutely no issue..... and I spend a lot of time on bumpy gravel as well.

The US car is clearly more agile with the reduced unsprung weight of PCCB and the 15 lbs less in the nose due to no lifts!!!

Can you really feel a tangible difference with +- 15lbs weight in the front ?

Thats only about 7 litres of fuel !

As for the lift, if I didn't have it I would be replacing the spoiler lip daily.
Even the approach to my drive scrapes if I forget to lift; and the main road we live off has speed bumps that are around 10 inches high! (with a 45 deg approach slope)
I even manage to scrape the front apron on the X5 if I approach them at over 20 mph !

I love the lift. 1200km and not a single scratch underneath the front of the car. I never forget to activate it but I always seem to forget to shut it off. Hopefully it going down on its own at speed doesn't add to the wear or something.
