Not to pick a fight but some people have a lot of cash and don't care how they spend.

Not picking a fight.....I am VERY careful how I spend my money.....I also make it a point to enjoy my money....How long do you wait to buy one?....it'll be cheaper in a few months, and even cheaper in 6 months, and cheaper in a year.....all the while people wait they could be driving.....honestly if you have to really think hard if it's a good idea financially to buy an RS, or even GT3 for that matter, it's probably not.....
I would start tracking how long they have been for sale. I assume, anyone listing a car FOR SALE wants to sell it sooner or later?? Start making offers.

Seems like pre-owned GT's are moving.

It definitely helps maintain values when Porsche charges an extra $12000 for the new car. It's not like they are adding $500 or something like many new model cars. If the older car msrp was say $195k, new the new one will be $207k. The new ones will be realistically sold at market at what 25 over at least? So $232k or more? If you think the old ones will sell at 10% under msrp that would be $175k. I think there is very little chance of there being a $57k spread on a 2016 vs a 2019 RS. I think most would keep the old RS at that differential, it just not that different/improved in my view.
The question will be how much more is the new one worth to someone?
