I'm not sure exact what you are referring to but I'm guessing: If you do a Euro Delivery I think you need to put down the German VAT of the car as a deposit. This is because if you keep the car too long in Europe or drive it to long in Europe the car will be considered a used car. Used cars are always sold including the local VAT.

Can someone pls explain to me why this will be a 2019 MY car? The previous RS was built late into '16/early '17, and remained a '16 MY car.
However, the .2 RS will be built in '18, but will be sold as a '19 MY car?
Can I presume the .2 will be sold and built, starting in March, just like the '17 MY Macan, that I ordered and was built/delivered In the end of March 2016? In other words, the .2 will be built early, due to some technicality that Porsche is most famous for creating?
What am I missing?

TY/cheers,

b

The 991.1 RS was built roughly from May 2015 to December 2016. It was an early intro 2016 model and stayed a 2016 past July likely so they wouldn't have to re-certify the car for 4 months of production. They could early introduce the car because there was no 2015 RS.

Is anyone else annoyed that the only headlight options are the basic silver lights or the $3000 leds? I prefer the single pot darker dynamic light ($800) and don't need or want the $3k double pot headlights.

Maybe this will explain it:

From rennteam:

"New rumor: First batch (before September) for the EU, second batch (after September) for ROW. Both without particulate filter. This rumor came from a supplier, so it may not be accurate."

"In the US, dealers will not get their allocations until April with delivery in the fall. This is the same schedule they had last year for the 2GT3. Example; my .2GT3 was to be built in July and delivered in September. That is until they delayed all GT3 deliveries until later in October."

Me. I would go for the upgrade regular lights and not the leds. apparently the leds are heaver too. Sigh.

Yup as figured.... for example, my GT3.2 allocation was informed to me April 2017... car was produced Sept and arrived at dealer Oct.

I just recommend to have your build (via Porsche Code) prepared ahead so when your name is called, you're ready.

Oh stop flippin' (both meanings- flip colors/options and flipping cars).

Yes! I kept looking the black HID option, it just looks better, more Porsche, than the stacked smaller LEDs.

My dealer got my code before sunrise that morning, trying to make it easier to "yes", right? They did say something about their inbox blowing up, lol.

^Looks good.... but, for me, I'm still sticking with no WP specifically since no rollcage anyway.

And my 1st choice remains as Guards like in my post #12... with Black as second choice.

IIRC, GR wasn't available as standard in the .1RS palette so it's cool it's now available for the .2 standards.... like a free PTS.

However if PTS ever opens up, then oh shyt... here we go.

^ Exactly. It's one of the few colors that isn't a known quantity on the 997.1, 997.2, or 991.1 RS.

The more combos I see—some of which look great—I'd still go GR with no WP and no stripes. Bold, but all business. And how can one go wrong with BBS wheels in motorsport gold?

There's something to be said for red cars on silver wheels, too—993 Turbo & 993 C4S come to mind as does 996 GT2, though I have never been able to figure out the "why." I struggled with GT4 color selections (so many looked great), but ended up going Guards and never regretted it. Saw some great PTS GT4s, but never one where it was definitely better to my eyes than Guards (a few were equally good, a few weren't). I have mixed feelings on red cars, and would have never ordered a regular 981 or 991 in Guards, but it sure works on a GT car.

The best looking combo -- also the cheapest. Only option, $330 satin wheels. Done:

^ Also looks great, and hasn't been offered in the past with a gray stripe to my knowledge. Like all of these non-"previous RS" setups. By far the most intriguing to me.

Too bad they don't offer your setup above with the stripe in gold, though I imagine it can be CXX'd or done later.

Would connect it to these, which—like red cars—my head tells me I should hate but I really have grown to dig:

love that. i'd probably go black wheels but im cheesy like that.

if you go WP you have to get black i think, looks pretty ricey otherwise. as someone else stated no cage either so that makes WP less interesting imo.
