Awesome! Congrats. I've got a ways to go to catch that.

Well, it hit 73 degrees yesterday so time to cancel meetings and take out the girls. BBQ sounded good too. Just crossed 31k miles.

Met a buddy yesterday for a serious dose of twisties. Picture this. The first leg was about 30 miles. Excellent roads. Beautiful scenery. Not one car. Most of the way there the girl never dipped below 5k rpm. Some of the best driving i have done. On the way back we stopped at the lake. Coming back i think we ran into two cars. This is living.

Drove the back way to Boulder this afternoon. Six hour round trip, including an hour for lunch. Probably 250 miles total. The roads were perfect. Zero traffic for 95% of the way there. The GT3 ran strong. Maybe a bit too strong! I was passing one of the few cars we ran into on the way home. Of course it was a 9k shift. I get around the guy, and slow down. Maybe 100 yards up two cops are standing outside their SUVs smiling as we go by. No way they didn’t hear that blast, as we were deep in the national forest and it is super peaceful. Two minutes later they pull me over. There was no suspense to this one! I find a spot that i can pull over and give them plenty of room. I never let the cops stand half way in the road, as it is unsafe for them, and i know they appreciate the consideration.
One of the cops walks up to the driver side. The other cop is walking around the rear of the car checking it out. I roll down the window and say hi officer. He was smiling. He tells me i was stopped for no front license plate. I told him i had ordered the plate holder but it was sitting in my garage (true). He runs my license and comes back maybe 3 minutes later. He tells me to get the plate on asap, but no fix it ticket. Cool cops! The other cop stood behind me just waiting for me to fire it up. They both stood there watching as i pulled away. And yes i wound it out just a little bit leaving lol.

This could be the best thread on RL! I am new to Colorado, and part of the reason I came out was the open roads...just getting settled in here and was considering buying a 996TT, but have recently shifted and a 991.1 GT3 is looking like it for me. With that being said, I am a ways away from making the leap, but in the meantime, I am picking up a motorcycle to hold me over.
I will keep an eye out for you, and as a matter of fact, I may have seen you on the road already...

Thanks. It was a pretty solid day! The mussels were really good. The funny thing was i passed these two car and i am sure they were laughing when i got pulled over right in front of them. I wonder what they thought when i did it again to them 5 minutes later? lol
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the thread. The roads here are awesome. I like your plan. The GT3 was made for this state. I have put almost 30k miles on mine, so you could have seen me. lol
Be very careful on the motorcycle. I know two people who hit deer while riding, and one is still recovering 3 years later. You have no reaction time. At a minimum wear a good helmet, full leathers and pads. Be especially careful late afternoons.
Thanks! Boulder is really cool. Very pretty area. Great food scene, too. We had lunch on Pearl Street.

I think a 991.1 GT3 will be a great choice, particularly if you decide to take advantage of the best recreational track situation in the country (cheap and frequent open track days at High Plains Raceway)
