CXX houndstooth for Touring
Apparently Porsche does not allow this option for the touring even under CXX. Does anyone have other information on this?
Also, for anyone who has made their own seat inserts (I am actually thinking of doing something other than houndstooth and little more unique, though classic Porsche at the same time), can you please advise on how much fabric is needed for LWB center inserts? Thanks in advance.

I cant help much, but the link shared prior was quite helpful for me. I am going aftermarket locally for my touring but actually keeping the inserts as provided and changing out the bolsters and sections on door and center arm rest with local sourced kangaroo hide. (thin, soft and tougher then steer) The key I think is to find an auto upholster that has a good rep and you feel comfortable with along with have a track record of working with high end cars. Then the next issue is finding a material that you like and that will suit. Im going with a semi aniline finish on the kangaroo hide which will show wear and isnt UV resistant like the full automotive leather. I'm accepting this to achieve the look I am going for.
PS, if you are wanting kangaroo hide, pm and ill put you in touch with the right people over here. Best leather in the world irrespective of it being on our national emblem

I have made several sets of covers and fabric 20" wide and 30" long will do a base or a back cushion with more than enough overlap to adhere the necessary velcro. Not sure what that dimension is in fabric store terms---I just have the attendant roll it out until I say stop.

i guess this is all a part of the gt3 pts and cxx stop sale that was noted in another thread here. cxx houndstooth inserts on lwb seats in a touring was allowed previously.

If you have LWB seats this is super cheap, buy the material here and have a good upholster sew the inserts. For 18 way seats this is a little more complicated but still easily done. This is what I plan to do,.

I would definitely do this, keep the OE inserts and have a set made to your liking.
