Default What are your driving plans this year?

Just wondering what your driving plans are this year? Big track schedule, or maybe a long road trip? I am definitely doing Pikes Peak this year. It is two hours from my house to the entrance, and those two hours to get there are glorious driving as well. The plan is to video everything, and have a chase vehicle to get some footage of the car.

I might do a couple more track days, and possibly take a longer road trip to Utah. There are some good scenic drives there to explore! Other than that mostly local driving. What about you guys?

There is always what I would love to do, and there is what really happens. Having a big family, it’s hard to satisfy some of my self wants and needs, but I would love to take my new manual gt3 to the track for a few times this year. I’m not really good and certainly don’t post the best times, but really enjoy the overall experience of a track day, including meeting people, taking rides with others and learning.

Other than that, I will be driving up to Northern California with a few friends for the Rennsport reunion. We know a few beautiful back roads that we’ll be taking when driving up there.

My wife and I will be doing several HDPE events. We do use Camaro's for this. She has a SS 1LE, and I have a ZL1 1LE.
Sometimes I will use my 911 Turbo at a PCA events.
We live near Cincinnati, so most of our events will be at Putnam, NCM, and Mid Ohio. We do plain on doing the Mid Ohio Region PCA event at Indy GP course.
I did it last year and it was a blast, Indy does have there act buttoned up. Love the yellow shirts.

As far as just road trips, we usually try to hit the tail of the dragon once a year. We live just south of Cincinnati in Kentucky, and have some really nice roads to cruise in my area.
I can drive to Rabbit Hash KY from my house and not hit a single light. About a 30 mile round trip. Rabbit Hash is a really cool tiny town that sits on the Ohio river. My avatar is a photo taken there.

That's a good way to appreciate the NA power we get (or lose) at high altitude every day. When you come back from the summit (14,110 ft), it will feel like the engine power just doubled

I plan to drive my Touring to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Nevada in late June. Will try to drive one of my favorite passes in Oregon (secret), if it's open. It was newly paved a few years ago and is fantastic drive. It'll be interesting to see how the car is on a long road trip.

I´ll be doing the Scuderia Hanseat course at Nurburgring in May. Got a 5h endurance race in March and a couple of track days in April to warm up.

A busy year ahead with track days booked at Spa, Hockenheim, Hungoraring, Zolder, Bilster Berg and Mugello, plus a long road trip in June to do some roads in the Italian and Austrian alps.

Reading this thread is just making the wait even more agonizing... God willing assuming everything works out and I take delivery of my GT3 safe and sound:

Euro Delivery in April (Germany, Switzerland, Eze in France, parts of Tuscany/Lake Como in Italy, back to Germany for Black Forest/Nurburgring)

Delivery in CA in June (Drives up and down PCH to SF and back to LA, Angeles Crest, exploring different canyon roads in SoCal as I will be moving there & new to the area)

Cannot wait!!

I drove the Nurburgring last year and I am jealous of all that have it on their agenda this year. I hope you all have dry and safe days out there.
Was planing on doing Circuit Mont Tremblant this year but couldn’t get track day insurance so I will be doing Watkins glen, palmer and hopefully Club Motorsports. Wish I could do more but tough schedule with kids and work.
