Who knows who spec’d the car, maybe the salesman did it thinking they would sell it no matter what? I don’t understand the love affair with the manual. I mean the only weakness of the GT3 is low torque in the lower rpm range and the manual accentuates that, because if you aren’t in the right gear at the right time especially on the track your going to lose distance or position. The PDK takes care of that. Your always in the right gear and it’s a dream to shift manually.
But people have different tastes than me and maybe differences uses. I have had buckets in my first GT3 and they are almost painful on long drives so I’ll never spec them. But they are cool to look at. They look like race seats and most wont see the track. Same for PCCBs . Had them in my first two GT3 s but they did NOTHING for my lap times, plus one rock in them and $9000 later you have two new rotors.
Some people are configuring show cars more than high performance street or track driving, but hey it’s their money so who are we to care? Someone will buy it.
What a load of nonsense. Funny how some Rennlisters love to passively aggressively confuse personal bias with absolute fact.

You are correct....I would be curious to know how many people with manuals lost out on track day trophies vs those with the PDK.....back when I tracked a manual I never finished on the podium but as soon as I got a PDK I was popping the champagne as they rose the American flag behind me.....all the while laughing at the guys with manuals watching me from below......
Again with the sofas and how nobody wants them. I do, and from what I read a lot of others also. Keep your buckets, PCCB and your paint to sample and that ugly wing. I will keep my 25,000.
Go on a diet and lose a few pounds and you will save the weight and maybe a driving class and I bet your time on the track gets better. I will stick with my GT3 Touring. I may not look cool but at least I will be comfortable.
I apologize for the confusion in my earlier post, I was merely pointing out the niche' at which that car is built/marketed towards.
1. Those willing to pay ADM
2. Those looking for PTS car (13k option)
3. Those looking for the exact hue of silver vs standard silvers
4. Those looking for sport seats. The best seat is the most comfortable one for you. It just seems more ppl are looking for LWBs in their specs, so smaller pool on these.
You guys and all your LWB homage. TRUST me not everyone wants, needs or even likes the LWB's. That part is just not that big of a deal breaker.
Just a data point to support your comment. When I was selling my .1 I took it to four dealers and not one of them made a comment that it had sofas. So I asked two of them and both replied it makes no difference to us, we'll sell it with or without LWB's.

working for a few dealers. that is correct, it doesn't matter.
being an instructor, the oem buckets are nice, but are a compromised race seat. if you really want to push the car, you will upgrade the seats to a higher thigh bolster and more than likely HANS compatible.
IMO this is actually a pretty nice spec aside from the PTS color choice, agree though that the PTS color is just too close to Agate considering the number of colors available
I had a Meteor with Cocoa 997.1 Turbo. Lovely car. Agate nice too but some folks don't like the brownish tint it can have in some lights. Meteor is a nice pure metallic gray. Handsome car.
I was told this wasn't even a presold order but a dealer inventory unit... I do agree what a waste of a PTS slot. Why couldn't a customer choose the color (and options) and then order... especially since it also has an ADM anyway? Just rambling... moot point now anyway.
