Default GT3 manual + Empty track = fun

Car is a 2018 GT3 manual, came with dunlop tires, cold tire pressure were 29psi fronts and 33psi rears. I didnt change the factory alignment. This video from the last session of the day when the track cleaned up a bit.

Observations:
1. Manual transmission is just a dream, no other manual come close in terms of feel and shift speed.
2. On the last run I forgot the traction contol on, but I didn’t even feel it. Car went sideways few times and traction didn’t intervene. Seems like Porsche programmed it to at least 30 degree slip before it cuts in.
3. Engine torque felt strong which allowed me to use 4-5k RPM corner exits.
4. Under heavy braking at corner 1, car felt twitchy due to the bumps. Maybe a wider tire up front will solve that issue.
5. On the last session i tried stiff suspension and it seemed better coming out of the corners especially when tire pressure dropped to 33psi cold in the rears.
6. Steering feel was great, not as good as a 997.2 GT3 but its very close.
7. One of the best thing i loved about it on track was the way it was rotating. You can see it at corner 4 and 5 in the video. It feels like its coming around, but you can control the rotation with the throttle. It was magic 😍

Anyways, enough with the text, here is one video to watch

here are some photos from today event. KSA GT3 was there as well

Its a shame that manuals are going extent. Hopefully Porsche will always have a car in their line up with this great transmission.

Nice shifting. It looked like at times you were not letting off the gas when upshifting?? I wonder how much time you would be off compared to PDK

Yes on the two straights where constant power without interruption is important. The corners where a corner is coming i let off between shifts because there is nothing to be shaved there by power shifting.

Here is another video, check around minute 8 where myself and a GT3 PDK were at the straight, you can see im losing nothing to the PDK in shifts.

Ls1Power,
After watching your videos (done that a few times already) I am speechless.

Were there other .2 Gt3s on the track ? You passed by too many cars so a bit hard to see !

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yes there was a red and a Black 991.2 GT3 and they are PDKs. You can see me in one of the videos passing the black one in the straight. There was also a red 991.1 Red GT3 on the track.
