Brand new owner of 2014 GT3, excited about the vehicle. Wanted to get some opinions about the best radars / jammers on the market.
Any advice is appreciated

It is like PTS colors. Every one has an opinion and no one is right or wrong. You will find this like the 1000 other radar thread will lead you down the path of the unknown and you will end up doing your own research and making a decision.

Congrats on the new ride, welcome to the forum. You are now addicted.

I've got an escort Max CI. Had similar system on a Carerra S and an M3 as well. I like it for its convenience. Turns on and off with the car. Great protection. Laser jammers are illegal where I live and the local police don't do too much laser anymore either so I don't have much experience with that option. Haven't used any other systems really so I can't comment on those.

Anti laser priority are the best jammers on the market for some time. They offer several updates a year and is easy to use your computer to ensure you have the greatest and latest version. Anti laser offers a blue tooth connection and updates can be performed with a smart phone. Ani laser jams the dreaded Dragon eye lidar gun, no issues.
Anti laser priority has an option to mount their very new Net Radar digital signal processors, excellent Blind spot filtering, and if you want directional arrows, it's possible by installing one front antenna and one rear antenna. The entire system integrates with the main cpu from anti laser priority.

another thumbs-up for the newest Escort Max - old model used to have false alarms all the time but this new one seems vastly improved.

The ESCORT MAX CI displays the actual frequency of each incoming radar. For example, in Michigan, K-Band radar in the 24-29Mhz is almost always a false signal. K-Band radar in the 33.475-35.5 Mhz is ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME police radar. This display filtering is great for ignoring false signals.

Escort Max 360. Have it hardwired in a couple cars and just easy in easy out on each car. The new directional arrows great and updates done via USB port on Computer

I have the Valentine 1 but also hear the Escort Max is good. Invest in the Blendmount for the mirror and the direct wire kit. It is well worth it.

I am/was an electronic engineer with a lot of military RF experience. This is my professional opinion, and some of this is fact:
Mike Valentine worked for escort. He is a Porsche fanatic and is a rennlist member. He created Valentine one because escort and Passport make their own models obsolete when a new model comes out ( that’s the way it was when he left) so he created a VERY GOOD detector that has saved my bacon MANY times. I have never been pulled over in a Porsche with my V1. Plus when there is a technical update you send in your V1 and for $35 your detector is upgraded to the latest configuration, you DONT have to buy the latest model. The range on the V1 is amazing and in the Mohave desert I’ve picked up the CHP 5 miles away and sometimes 3 miles away in more urban areas. I bought mine in 2002 and it’s as new today. It was $400 back then I don’t know what it is today but I also like the way it has directional detection and the number of different targets. I haven’t tested the others lately because of the continued excellence of my V 1. And when I have had questions I have PM’d Mike and he gets back to you in a few days He used to have a CGT. I don’t know if he still has it or bought a 918
the fact they are still in the $400 dollar range is amazing. I paid $400 15 years ago.

For jammers AL Priority is no doubt the top dog right now. All other ones (including Escort CI) struggle with some of the DragonEye guns, so if they are used in your area then AL Priority is your best best. For radar you can't go wrong with any of the upper end Escort units, V1 or a Uniden R1 or R3. It really comes down to what features you want. The escort units will have auto lockout which is a nice feature the other units don't have due to their patent.

Hard wired V1. Directional arrows. Upgrade available at a significant discount (usually gets you a brand new unit) no matter how old your existing V1 is. Enough said.

Valentine One and the Waze app is my set up. Waze is a nice back up on a well traveled road and when others are logging information.

Completely uneducated on this. What does it take to get it hard wired? Can you self install or how difficult is it?

I use this in every car.

1. Valentine One Hardwired and mounted on a Blendmount
2. Waze
3. Use Common Sense
4. Have a good lawyer
