GT3, R8, or 570S

I went from a MP4-12C to a 991.1 GT3 back to a 650S. The GT3 only lasted 2 months in my garage. I really like McLarens, and the 570S is definitely worth an extended test drive.

I just can't stand the attention of a 570 (drove extensively), even in LA. Perhaps a black one would call less attention, but one is constantly facing people opening their windows in traffic trying to talk to you, and videoing the car in the highways. I am. It even talking about the tourist vans in Beverly Hills (another story). I do not like to be stuck to a car for weekends only. I like to drive them when I want, but weekdays are a pain with such an exotic like car. Since R8 does not ring the bell for me., GT3 would be my choice. It also blends in more easily in traffic; most people likely think that you have a Porsche but really like those wings of the Honda Civics, and would not bother you at all. 570 drives great by the way, and I was surprised that the turbo was not bad at all.

couldn't see "begging" to get a GT3 with $20K ADM, so I dropped my order and went 570S.
It has a kind of a "Lotus"-feel but with supercar speed. With the 570, you get feeling that you have something special, like a Patek. With the GT3, it is Rolex daytona. Both are very fine and do the job, but the Rolex is stamped by machines at 10,000/day and yet you have to beg to get one. The patek is hand-made and "crafted", yet you can order one and get it without all the pretense& bullsh!t...it makes something about the Rolex/GT3 seems contrived.

Having had a .1 gt3 and now a 570gt I would still pick the gt3 all day long at msrp. But once you start talking 30k adms I would probably pick a 570 I think it’s more car and truly a blast to drive. I had a 2014 turbo s and I find the 570 to be a much better car. The gt3 is just special though but at over 200k I’m not sure it’s worth it. 570s can be had in the 170s.

A friend currently has the best of both worlds.... a manual GT3.2 and he recently traded-in his R8 (manual V8) for the new 570S..
He also told me that if he had to choose just one then it's the GT3 w/o a doubt since it's still one of the best cars to drive...
He did say "the McLaren has the rock star looks and killer acceleration but the GT3 is perfect".

The McLaren easily gets the most attention and drives like an exotic. The carbon tub with the direct steering and the short nose all add to that experience. Not great for the crappy SF Bay Area roads. I had 991.1 GT3 and R10 V10 manual so not exactly same as your asks, but for what it's worth the R8 was more fun and useable on the street--probably because of the NA engine paired with the manual--as opposed to the GT3, which just felt like jail time in order to enjoy. Same for the 570S.
GT3 just wants to go fast..
570s just wants to go faster.
Lack of manual in the new R8 would remove it from the equation as it was the 2nd best part to my R8 (NA V10 1st). GT3 would be my choice for tracking /regular usage btw the Mac & Porsche. If it was just a fun car 570S spider seems to check the boxes that most apply to my usage.
Seems criminal to have to pick only 1. No wrong answer-

I'm a watch enthusiast too and funny, I think the GT3 = Daytona too but view it positively. Once I got my Daytona I sold all my other watches and it's been my daily wearer ever since. The most beautiful watch in the world *for me*, reliable and bulletproof. Had to jump through flaming hula hoops to get it too lol. Never owned McLaren or Patek. Also let me know where you can order and get a 5711 with out all the pretense and BS please
