Never used one and never dropped wheel on a rotor, and I change tires or pads at least well over a dozen times per year among all my cars for the last 5+ years. I am not suggesting others stop using their tools, but I fail to see the need for one, and screwing it in and out would add a few minutes to the wheel change, I imagine. When I get paranoid I put a towel over the rotor and brake caliper to avoid scratching the barrel.

Me, my indy shop and also my dealer, they all think that is a very helpful tool.... At least for peace of mind during brakes or tires change....

I just got in my centerlock wheel alignment tool from SmokinGTS (Ed) today. Great quality product. Love the delrin material and the thread cap protector. Should come in handy and keep my PCCBs and wheels free from damage and looking new. Thanks Ed.
