If you like whisky, take the ferry over to Islay, 8 distilleries on an island, lots of peat...We had a great time there.

We really enjoyed running the north ring road near the top of the highlands. It’s farther north than we realized so around solstice the sun was out until quite late, made for great views and photographs. (The sun would set quite early this time of year.) Consider using car ferries as it will open up a lot of options. Have a great trip!
