Lightbulb GT3 991.1 PRODUCTION NRS

Happy Thanksgiving once more, considering that the gt3 991.1 has been produced in only 3500 examples vs the 6500 of the gt3rs , this could make the car more collectible in the long long long term ?

Long term , 20/30 years from now . Agree 3500 is not a low nr , but is less than the 993 turbos, and we have to consider the emerging markets , if they keep improving in the future. They had less chance to get a new car today so they will not have a collectible one available in 20/30 years. I got a BMW CSI E9 in 2007 in Italy , just sold for triple the price included my repairs (8000 made).

No- .1 will not be collectible. Hate to say it but it is the bastard step child. The Engine issues is a black eye but good to see Porsche stepped up with the warranty.

First of all, there are less RS in USA. Second, its an RS. Third, the final build numbers on RS are still debatable, it seems like those in the know are settling around 4500 WW. However, who cares! Get the one you can afford, drive the living crap out of it now and let the value shake out whereever. After all, we all may not be here in 20 years. Enjoy things now.

In 20 to 30 years the forum will be full of questions like Does anyone know where I can buy the stuff called "Gasoline" for the 2016 GT3 that I just bought?

RS has not been produced in anywhere near 6500 units WW. Not even close. Wiki's info is incorrect and fails to site a source because there is no source for that figure. Based on engine # and tracking info posted here total production approximately 3500 WW with approximately 1500 in U.S.

Don't believe every thing you read on the internet.
Then again if it's on the internet it must be true.

RS will always be more desirable thant a GT3 absent exceptional circumstances.

you sure 3500? Seems like there was that many at the last c&c i went to a few months ago. Either way the rs is rs. If you want collectible buy a 911r or a 918

Yeah. I'm sure. Also based on production capacity of PAG and speical items needed for their production such as the magnesium roof. Also RS's do like to gravitate to C&C's. LOL.

I wouldn't consider hearsay from a Porsche club member to be "official data" from PAG. I would love to see something official so we could stop debating this. MJones reported 1966 GT3's for North America (or just US?) so that would leave only 1500 or so cars for the entire rest of the world which I can't believe.

I say pick the numbers you like most and go with those.

Lol. As Loess said hearsay from this one or that one is far from “official” PAG data. If it’s “official” data ask your buddy to have the data released and posted.

Based on data tracked by Loess and others together with production capacity and production processes for specialty bits there is NO way 6500 hundred units would have or could have been produced in a 2 year production period especially with only 1500 existing WW as of March 2016.

If you believe 6500 RSs exist WW I have a really nice bridge connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan for sale. Cheap . PM me for details.

Official PAG letter stated that there were 6083 GT3 (991.1) produced WW.
