Default Wider tires on a GT3

Anyone tried to put wider tires on their 991 GT3?

Stock its 245-35-20 fronts and 305-35-20 rears. I assume 265-35-20 and 325-25-20 are doable with some fender rolling and more camber. Pirreli also make 255-35-20 and 315-35-20 tire size.

Default Tire size

Yes I run MSC2’s 265-35-20 and 325-25-20. There’s rubbing on the L front primarily. It has slowly rubbed a hole in the plastic fender guard near the reflector and now it doesn’t hardly rub. I have not had any significant tire issues that either I or the Motorsports shop I work with can tell. Have done 3 track weekends with this setup and I like it a lot.

Camber settings are max factory settings which I believe are 2.25fr and 2.5r.

I don’t have any static pictures, but car looks awesome with better fill of the wheel well. My car is currently being transported for track weekend at Road Atlanta. I have some action pictures from Barber. These are 20 inch CL OZ rims that are same specs as factory 20’s that I am running with the above mentioned tires.

Looks beautiful. Any improvement in lap times over stock size tires?

If you want a quick three seconds per lap just drop down to 19" wheels and run Hoosier R7's...265/35x19 up front, 325/30x19 in the rear.

Hard to say... I got the car in July and went directly to this setup. I just did my best time ever at Barber with a 136.06. Perfect conditions and had a passenger in the car. Had a good clean lap. No traffic. Fastest posted time is 135.7. So I think it makes a difference.

I am using forgeline wheels them and HRE are about the only ones I am aware of that make 19" to allow 265/325 and not rub. You do need to change the camber and toe to not rub also.

+1 Based on my friends experience with his 991.1 GT3 in running this setup it's what I have purchased for my 991.2 GT3 (for when the snow melts at this point). The only additional item is some thrust arm bushings to adjust the front castor. As one poster has already noted there can be some rubbing in the front once you add in camber with the 265's. Easy fix with Tarett thrust arm bushings if needed. Some 19 inch rims will also require trimming the rear control arm bolt. Amazing grip from what I see.

If you have the correct custom offsets from an aftermarket wheel brand like HRE you will not have any rubbing issues whatsoever using the 265 & 325 setup. We've even done 335's in the rear on HRE's with no issue.

What wheel width and offset are you using for 325-335?

We use a 13" wide rear wheel.

Unfortunately we cannot share offset information until a customer has placed an order per HRE rules.
