It's sparking so many question for me...

Is the wing the same as the R?

What does the wing look like up?

What does the area under the wing look like when it comes up?

Will there be a button that allows you to keep it retracted at highway speed?

Why don't GT cars have a mulching and bagging function?

Yes, it does.. nothing new. It’s an R with a better engine and no magnesium roof and carbon fenders. That’s it. Exactly the same.

Anyone have a picture of an R (or Touring) with the spoiler raised? I can't find a single pic.

I hear you. When I took my old Carrera S for servicing they found an old dried up tree frog in the front radiator grille.

I'll post pictures.
Great! Congrats on the early delivery... you will have the answers to all those Touring questions!

Interesting. Thanks! Similar housing to the Touring, but a different part. you don't happen to have a pic with the wing raised, do you?

Pre-production, but I imagine it will be very similar to a regular 911. It has a button to raise it. Certainly none of these little details is going to change your mind one way or another is it?

Nice find!!

I finally found a few pics that I had to clip from a video... Not high quality but it gives an idea. Basically just a plastic surface under the wing... Touring should be slightly different, since it's not designed to vent air from the panel under the spoiler:

I guess it looks okay, but is someone actually watching their own car driving - from behind?

And what about the engine? In a 991 you only see it when it‘s broken and therefore out of the engine bay, otherwise it reminds me of the fans for CPU cooling in my PC -LOL.

I don’t even think carbon fiber looks good anyway. Most of the time when you see it it’s fake anyway, but even real carbon fiber is fugly. It exists because it’s lightweight. Bless it’s heart. But I just don’t get the fascination with wanting to see it.

I can't think of many occasions where I'd rather see black textured plastic vs. carbon fiber.

None of these details make any difference to any decision I'd make, but I'm certainly curious as to the overall differences between the Touring and the regular GT3, and any differences between the R and the Touring. Porsche generally reuses parts between cars as long as they're functionally suitable, so any time they're different I find it interesting.

Exactly...touring advocates are compromising on other aspects already. They should offer standard Carrera S wheels for the Touring also (JK)

I would have ticked that box in a second to eliminate the centerlock nonsense.

Also, note how much higher the touring wing goes up compared to the R. There was some chatter that it as cab wing height (apparently they go up higher). It should add more downforce at the cost of drag.

So 5 lugs would be a compromise over centerlocks? More interesting still... I'm not 100% sure what compromise means to you in this case.
