Just loving this car. The sound, handling and just everything about it. Another 200 mile roadie this past weekend. Some new roads I have never traveled in SoCal.
Wow. Liking this thread Share route please! Gorgeous car... sometimes I second guess if I should have gone through all the stress for the .2 when the .1 looks so good, but euro delivery was a once in a lifetime chance I didnt want to pass up.

I would have done the same.
So this route was basically Mullholland right off the 101 at Universal. Drove that around and back to 405. Jumped on 405 for a couple exits to Sunset, over to PCH. North on PCH to Latiga Canyon but then my buddy took a few turns I don't remember and we ended up where these pics are. That road dumped us back onto PCH several miles north of Malibu. No one on the roads. At one point you feel like you are driving through the rolling green hills of some European country, very cool.
I have never driven this area being an Orange County homer.
Fun little Super Bowl morning drive. Trying out the new Waylens camera set up for the first time. I need to find a wireless external mic option so it isn’t the sound in the car.
So this weekend was EPIC. Got a chance to take the GT3 out on the track for the first time. A group of about 8 cars headed out to Spring Mountain where you in our group is a member. Drove 2 different tracks and all I can say is HOLY HELL. If you have not taken your GT3 to the track once, DON'T DO IT!!!!! you will be ruined forever and just want to go back as soon as you leave. I also got to drive my .1 GT3 back to back with a .1RS. Sorry all you RS owners I know this will ruffle some feathers, not a lot of difference at least for the ability we have and the tracks we were on. HP and aero just didn't come into play.
I had an instructor the first day. I used him before at the V Academy and another track day with the Caddy. This time is was a whole different ball game in the GT3.
Enjoy a few pics. I have some track video that I need to download so I will post that later.
This is a great thread that should encourage people to go drive & get the most out of their GT3s versus the beaten to death topics around here... thanks again for sharing, I'm smiling looking at the photos as it looks like a hell of a time
I love your car!
couple of questions
what odbii do you use to pair a VIRB? I have one for my E63S but does not populate a lot of the data.
what is the brand for your rear camera? Navtv, is that what you said?
do you gain any mid range torque with your exhaust? If any that is where I felt the car need a better transition.
thank you
astolfo

Thank you. I truly enjoy driving it like it was meant to be.

I use the OBD that came with Waylens. I am still learning the system. It is just OK so far. Backup camera is the NavTV module and then I am not sure the brand of camera but it is smaller than most with better picture. I have no idea on the exhaust. I am not even close to the limits. All I know is it sounds frickin incredible. Videos coming soon.
Thanks man! Its driving me crazy waiting for mine....love the exhaust.
plus I like that you are not trying to overdo it when at the track.
Oh trust me I wasn’t. I even told the instructor I have no intent to find the edge. Worked on the proper lines, went fast enough to keep it on the pavement and bring the car home in the condition it started. Just nice to drive safely, fast with no worries of cyclists and cops.
Well I finally did it. No real pics to add but I did the ALP/Net radar integrated install. I have always been an Escort windshield mounted radar guy but since I plan on keeping this car a long time and I do some fairly long road trips I felt the need to go all in. I will do a full write up comparing after using it for a while. Next week is our 3,000 mile spring break road trip so stay tuned for a TON of pics.
