The next GT4 will be VERY interesting. In my opinion with their success on the 981 GT4 they will be pushing the envelope even more with the next car!

Gt4 is a good car
gt3 is an excellent car
i like the spyder idea. I have never driven on but those who have them just rave. Silver with two tone red black leather would be tasty.

Spyder is a unique and totally different driving, not to mention visual, experience. I think next go-around Spyders will be produced in much greater numbers compared to Gt4... people “discovered” this car after it was too late.

I like both..... BUT if one must stay then no doubt the GT3. No brainer.

In terms of costs... a big price difference though between the two. WIN-win either way, IMHO.

And there's 250 GT3 991 currently for sale on this site alone.

In an ideal world I would've kept the GT4 as my track car and gotten the Touring pack with my GT3 as my weekend road car. But since I can't really afford/justify both, I got the GT3 with the big *** wing which should handle the double duty just fine.

Can't say yet whether I will regret it as I will making the trade in the next week or two. Won't really be able to answer until I've broken in and then tracked the GT3.

Last I checked there were 200 for sale. Owners overwhelmingly jumping ship to shun that little engine and a chassis that doesn't push like your big *** is overweighted.

LoL - I'm just kidding you. There is no Carrera S engine in production to shoe into the next GT4 and I doubt Porsche will spend the development $ for a new engine so it is reasonable to deduce that the next GT4 will be turbo making the GT4.1 the car to have. An icon. A controversial anomaly where Porsche slipped one of their 911 engines into a lesser model.

Sell now and you will regret it

I have the same dilemma: GT3 Touring incoming with a GT4 in the garage. To make matters more complicated the garage also houses a 458 Speciale and a 993 C2 coupe. I dont't have the room so reluctantly I may let the GT4 go.

GT3 guys tend to poo poo the GT4 but, IMO, the GT4 is fantastic and for the money nearly untouchable in a modern sports car. It WILL hold value fine compared to a GT3.

Trying to figure out a way to keep them all.....

I did exactly the same. Held for a year tracked and had a blast buts its not a gt3 experience. Now if they drop the 4.0 in new gt4 that becomes "goldilocks" imo.

agree based on fun factor but concerns off warranty w 3rd gear failure is why I didn't do this. Really serious track use has rendered two guys here I know w a second and third transmission replace. Note replace not a factory fix to the issue. So for me that is too high risk for off warranty period regular track use. Hoping next car has stronger gearbox and special motor, then I'd likely flip my .2 991 gt3 as I agree I love the look for the gt4 better than gt3. Round and big vs sleeker lines and smaller footprint of gt4

I traded my GT4 toward incoming GT3 (middle Dec. delivery), and agree it was a tough car to move on from. It did everything well, but found myself grabbing the
keys to the 997.1 more for the sounds and 911 experience. I am sure I will miss the GT4, but not while behind the wheel of the new GT3.

Life is short Rev on!

******Keeping the 997 GT3!

Quick Reply: With gt3 touring should I replace GT4.
