Default What PTS colors are most unique?

People pay a fortune to get their P car in a unique PTS color, but which colors are the most unusual? I would think the blues seem to be the most common, followed by the greens and greys. I don't see many PTS reds like Peru Red. I always think some of the Ferrari reds would look cool on a Porsche. Any thoughts?

Rosso corsa is approved.

Lots of blues are pretty.
Lots of greens are pretty.

Those colors have heritage which is why we order them...

+1. its what you like. The best color may be the free one, does not have to be PTS. I am a non-conformist, always doing and choosing things others may not approve. This time around, I chose a "generic" GT silver. For me, no kind of blue or green can come close to this. ...and I am glad many will disagree.

edit: what's above,

Do you know anything about the Ferrari color: Rosso Portofino? new color debut for the Ferrari portofino. Doubtful that would be on an approved list. Looks like a deep red metallic.

Sepia Brown is approved I think ....

Never seen a 991 in it. I tried to go through the list and find a picture of every green though very thorough searches (foreign languages, instagram, RL, other forums etc.) and I could not find a number of them on a PTS car and one or two I could not find period (ie they were not historic Porsche colors, Audi colors, Ferrari color etc.).

And that is for greens which are probably second to blues in popularity. With beiges, browns, whites, silvers — I am not sure I have ever seen a paint to sample Silver (other than liquid) or White (other than pearl) 991, but there are some colors approved. Same with brown/beige. I am sure if you scoured the list you could find more than a few that maybe just has the one original requester’s car and at least one color I was told was approved but no car painted in it (Auratium green metallic).

Now, do you want to pay $13k for a Carrara White (non-metallic) instead of white for free just to be unique? Or do you want an unusual blue or green no one else picked (probably for good reason). Are you willing to wait a year to try to get a new color through feasibility then, once you do, other people pick it and it is no longer unique? Or maybe everyone thinks it is ugly and you are the guy with the ugly PTS car?

If you want unique stay away from the viper, signal, Mexico, riviera and voodoo. Not that unique and a very high % get this when going PTS.

I would not worry about unique and get a color you like, love. If that happens to be a regular color or PTS then so be it.

Since PTS accounts for <3% of Porsche's production, I'd say they are all unique.

i'm sure there are 1 of 1 PTS that we never see; belonging to the Porsche family and VVIPs. all tucked away in some storage facility waiting to be sold at auction in 30 years.....

I'd say you need to consult a dictionary

The formerly incorrect secondary meaning (a synonym for unusual) is now accepted. Sad, but not a unique situation.
