Default check engine light?

I keep getting a check engine light and then a message that driving is permitted. I have brought the GT3RS back to the dealer three times now. They clear the light and a week later it comes back on. the dealer says there is nothing wrong but it sucks to drive when it comes on because I think I'm going to screw up the motor or something. whats up? anyone have this problem?

Need rol now codes.
I’ve never had CEL and not normal.

Assuming you’re not talking about high or low oil level, which is pretty much permanent.

That is not normal. Ask the dealer for the codes....as Trak said, oil level won’t throw a CEL but does throw the little yellow oil warning light....

I'll ecco what these guys said. High or low level oil aside, this shouldnt be an issue.

With all the engine issue's going on I would be more adamant asking the dealer to investigate further.

Surprised the dealer hasn't pulled any codes in order to diagnose the issue.. If you''ve made any changes to the exhaust, that would be the first place to check.. leaks , etc...

A loose oil cap will throw a cel code.

As others have said , the codes will reveal the problem. I got a CEL around 7000 miles and it was the thermostat. Fortunately it was frozen open so no issue. If frozen closed engine shutsdown rather than overheat.

Typical dealer “ diagnosis “ when warranty probably pays 0.5 hrs and the shop is full of money makers. Clear the code and cross your fingers the rich a-hole(not you...their general thinking...) won’t come back.

I had to have the thermostat replaced more than once, and again, I have the yellow CEL with permitted to drive. I can tell the thermostat is stuck open by seeing how long it takes to get to temp, and how it runs at 185-190 instead of 205-215f. But I don't care anymore. Not wasting my time on their crappy thermostat design.

My code was also the thermostat stuck open, around 6000km..... Met a guy at the track that's on his third one.... Hopefully that's the extent of rs issues!!

Go to a different dealer. And get the codes.
